Spent an awesome day with scgaper of www.joecustoms.com and his family.

They surprised me with this awesome Vintage "Star Wars" Rebel Transport! I never had one as a kid and it was the only item eluding me as an adult (every time I saw one, it was way too expensive for me to feel comfortable with).

It is nearly complete, only missing 1 laser cannon (which I wasn't going to use anyway) and the bottom escape hatch cover (easily covered with tech kibble). I am going to build a whole new interior and paint the exterior to match the original prop from the Lucasfilm archives!

They also gave me the excellent "Grumpy Cat" patch as they know I love all things Grumpy Cat :)

I got my Revell AT-AT in the mail today. It is an exact repack of the older version. The promo pictures and box art would leave you to belive it is a repaint in a lighter color, that is not the case. Same blue grey color. And it's definitely not 1/53 scale, more like 1/72'ish.  The kit does need help. Im not sure where they got their referencing materials. But like they say in the used car business, it looks good at 20/20, 20 feet away, for 20 seconds.

I also got the 3d printed chin guns, designed for this kit. Its definitely more accurate. However I would have liked it better if the barrel was hollow, then again the 3d printing material is quite brittle on small thin parts, so meybe its best it is solid.

I really need to get caught up on my AT-AT Models. Kind of a bummer with that new Revell one I think.

I didn't expect a change to the sculpt, but a repaint would have been nice, at least make the promo pictures an accurate depiction. Really all they need to do is add some of the missing armor plates on the head, and re work the panel lines so they aren't a negative imprint, it would be great. They won't rework it because they're the only ones making AT-AT kits. That's why I'm a firm believer in competition. With all that said it is great they decided to re release the AT-AT, the secondary markets had absolutely insane prices for them.

I got in my Rogue One Art of and Visual Guide yesterday. Both are must haves if you liked Rogue One. I love seeing the concept art.

I also got in my walmart.com order of the new superarty Jyn and Deathtrooper.

Tonight, despite my rule of not hitting stores near Christmas, I took a run to the Rt4 TRU after work looking for the last "Dark Crystal" figure I need (the Skeksis) but they did not have it.

Note the 3.75" Hasbro figure for scale.

I did, however spy this enormous "Rogue One" K-2S0 31" figure for $34.99. I had been spying the 20" one at $19.99 for a few weeks now to convert into a giant war droid but had never seen the 31" version before. All of the "Star Wars" items are BOGO 40% off so I grabbed both scales for $50 including the tax!

I will begin modifying them into 2 different classes of giant war droids when the warm weather returns and I can spend some time in the garage going through parts.

First year a few of my friends and I did Secret Santa. I found the Snowtrooper before we met up so luckily my Secret Santa didn't get me one lol.

There's also a Snowtrooper variant, one has darker boots making it appear more muddier.

So cool to see Wave 9 hitting in the stores. I haven't seen em on the pegs yet, but am looking forward to tracking down the at-at pilot and driver and now I guess the two different kinds of Snowtroopers.

Picked these up tonight at Gamestop. Leia definitely looks better in-hand. With that, I'm caught up on this wave so I cancelled my order from Dorkside. I thought for sure these would be tough to find.

December turned out to be a very fun festive month for me. In my country (the Netherlands) we have a very old tradition called "Sinterklaas",  which roughly translates to Santa Claus. It's really a little children's festivity, but once they're 6-7-8 old they don't believe in the white bearded good doer anymore, but the tradition will go on with buying gifts for each other, accomponied with rhymes and custom made surprise boxes. Basically, a Secret Santa round with a little bit extra. This year, a fellow Star Wars fan was my "Secret Santa" and she made one helluva BB-8 surprise box out of styrofoam. Check him out on the right in this pic:

BB-8 did not contain the missing piece to the map locating the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker, but did hand me the Lego Wookiee Gunship Microfighter. Very nice gift, but the custom made BB-8 was an even greater gift :D

Furthermore, my girlfriend and I had ourselves a "12 Days of Christmas" gift round, which resulted in even more Star Wars goodies for me:

- The Making of Star Wars hardcover (most awesome book!)
- Lego Star Wars 2016 Advent Calendar
- Revell Millennium Falcon model kit (haven't built a kit in ages!)
- Stormtrooper savings jar (gonna save up for the next SWC in the US!!!)
- Hotwheels Chopper character car
- Lego Ghost w/Hera Microfighter (awesome little vehicle)
- Happy Sithmas Vader sweater

Naturally, I'm one happy geek :D :D :D
