Life at Sprywalker Ranch
« on: May 10, 2010, 07:37:33 PM »
Hello, I thought I would make a single post to say hello to new guys, if you look at this, and just say to everyone that I simply don't have as much time to post replies these days. I don't have as much time to do customs either and that is what I love the most. Spring, Summer and Fall is when I make good money and I am playing catch up from a long wet winter. I'll still be here for sure, but lurking and commenting when I can. I will also be working on customs but at a much slower rate. I have a lot of work to do in my yard, just got our pool open and still working on that., bla, bla bla. You know how it is if you are a home owner with any size property that you maintain so I won't bore you with the details. Through the winter and early spring I had more time and if I reply I want to contribute something that the person can think about and hopefully help all of us get better through talking about our ideas. I just don't want anyone to think I am being a jerk when I don't get to reply as much as I would like. OK guys? See ya soon

On the couch all day. Been sick since yesterday with my head all clogged up and feeling as big as my house. Damn sinus trouble! The day I hoped to work on some customs...oh well.

Have not updated this in a while...to many customs keeping my buisy. Well Tonight is the night. Earl is headed my way as a catagory 3 and winds have dropped tp 115. It will skirt the coast of the Outer Banks at around 3 AM but I hope it stays out to sea. I live 45 minutes from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. So today I have mowed the lawn, just over 4 acres, and battoned down the hatches. That is Sea leg talk for securing all the projectiles in my yard. Tourist have been evacuated from the OBX and most residents insist on riding out the storm. They know everything will flood and they won't be able to get back in. So when you see everyone on the news talking about Earl hitting the OBX that is my back yard and I am supposed to be on vacation there in an Ocean front house starting Saturday. So lets all hope she will still be standing after this storm. I will be up all night! :-\

When I  was stationed in Norfolk, we used to drive down to the outer banks all the time. I found it interesting that every year, a hurricane would blow down those stilt houses on the beach and every year, they would rebuild them.

Good luck, LE

Stay safe L.E. I had one of my nicer girlfriends before I got married live down that way. It is a great place. I hope everything stays great!

Bragg wasn't overly far away from there. Pack up those great customs and put em all in waterproof containers, like I need to tell you that. The hell with the SW stuff, it can be replaced, the family is the only thing to really worry about. Please keep us updated.  Those storms are the real deal.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I know what you mean Clint, but for the past 10ish years if your million dallar ocean front home blows down or is claimed by the ocean you can not rebuild. I hear they can't get insurance on those houses for years either. Small world I am in Norfolk all the time. Tamer we were thinking about staying with our Niece in Raleigh if it was looking too bad. Brag is not far away, my wifes dad used to work there, Army core of engineers. He was in charge of all the buildings and roads. Did you live in Fayettville or Fayetnam as they call it?
