Akira live-action movie

Yes, I heard that Warner had aquired the rights to make not 1 but 2 movies based on the 6 issue manga Akira which was also adapted into an animated film in 1988. The first of the two films is to be released next summer 2009.
  I would love to see a trailer for this if anyone can find one.

Just read here , that this movie has been scrapped. Too bad as I always liked the anime.

no way, I'm from a different generation, I like akira, but I love ninja scroll.

I have a slightly customized akira figure around here somewhere, the hero guy on bike.
