I'm starting to wonder if my snow Rex is ever actually going to make it to me from Singapore.

Just to be clear here, Jay. His head isn't removable at all? It's connected by a pin that recesses into his body?

Oh, I watched it, Jay. As you demonstrated and, as I had feared, there is probably a t-shaped peg that recesses into the body for the forward and backward movement along a channel that is cut into the top of the torso which terminates to a swivel shaped piece within the head for side to side movement. I wonder how the boil and pop method would work for removing the head from that peg? As Jay had mentioned, the head is pretty small and I don't know if a clone head would fit inside it, were it hollowed out but with some major surgery, I plan on testing that possibility.
About the removable shoulder pads, I like this idea in that it allows for the in and out movement of the arms with that hinge acting independently from the shoulder pad and allowing the shoulder pad to pass over the hinge, when the arms are spread apart.  I took a few pics to add to Jay's great review.

Here is a shot showing the shoulder peg hole and the peg on the shoulder pad. Also, there is a peg in the bottom of the helmet that recesses into this hole in the top of Rex's head.

I believe that my copy of this figure is considered a factory reject because of the lopsided stripe on top of his helmet. You can see how it leans to one side. This factory blemish doesn't explain where the rest of the figure and his accessories would have come from. Were this found by a quality control person and rejected because of the paint apps on the helmet, why not just replace the helmet rather than toss the body, backpack, and guns. It wouldn't make sense to do things this way unless the cost of producing the figure is so low that the cost of labor to replace that one helmet would be higher. There must be more to how tunghori gets his figures to sell.

Overall, like Jay, I feel that this figure is fine as a stand alone piece but because of the lack of ankle articulation, posing him to stand is kind of a chore. I can't imagine that he would pose well on a speeder bike, either, because of the ankle issue and the kama getting in the way. I find the gray coloring on the legs and arms to be not cannon with what we seen in the Trespass episode. I see what Jay means about the hand sculpt making it hard for him to hold weapons, as well. Man, they should have given him the same wrist and ankle articulation like all of last years CW clones had as well as given him the always nice to have, removable helmet. I do like the backpack and think that it's a pretty good representation of what we seen.

When it comes time for them to give us the obligatory repainted flamethrower trooper, come next year, this is the sculpt that I am afraid that we will be stuck with.

what are the odds that when they re-release this figure with the freeco...maybe? that he will get ankle articulation and a fabric kama?

A well-built sniper rifle is a beautiful thing. Ours has two zoom modes, "Up close and personal" and "Hello, you're dead

Mandalore the skepsis ,   You and me both.  I'll save my money as of  late though I have been on a Republic Commnado buying spee. Adding several Fi Skirata's for custom builds, and AOTC Clones from E-bay. Only new Clone Wars stuff I bought this year was Commander Bly for myself and the new AT-RT however I did get my son a Commander Stone. The lack of foot articulation kills the Clone War Line for me. I really do believe this line is being aimed at Kids and not collectors. Kids don't care if the colors are right on or that the helmet is just plain stupid IMO, kids might not get so much enjoyment out of the Snow Rex once they lose that top part of the helmet. It is unfortunate that Hasbro is doing this. I have 68 TCW clones as of now but will not add to that number very much this year from what I have seen and from some of the reviews here.

Best part will be my Wallet gets FAT! Worst part Hasbro keeps pumping out this crap! I guess you can always make a custom.

Jon

I already made a custom of him, check him out in the customs section.

CC you beat me to the comment. We all know the Bro loves to give us an inferior figure first when it is a most wanted figure. Then they release it with a repainted vehicle like the Freeco or heck just put it on another card with better articulation. They are like, you know those crazy fans will buy the crappy one first then we will put out a full articulation to double our profits. Followed by low, deep, evil laugh.

They even messed up the paint job on this one. I like the white and blue apps, but the grey is pretty bad.

The more I see this figure, the more it makes me sick.
