Serg how do you afford all this amazing stuff, damn!

I quote myself ;) See below:

A good friend of mine, collector on Rebelscum, also said that. ;) The answer is pretty simple: I don't have a lot of money - ok, my salary is somehow bigger now with my Ph.D., but the main point is I focus. I'm going only for Imperials stuff and don't buy all the Hasbro figures. Not that I wouldn't like to, but because I cannot since there are no Star Wars figures in Romania at current time.

So if I want to buy a new carded Hasbro figure I would pay 3-4 times the price a US fan would because of shipping and import tax & fees etc. I wanted to order 3 Imperials figures from BBTS and total plus shipping would be over $80, the same with Entertainment Earth or other stores. So why bother in the first time? Thus I better save my hard earned money for higher end collectibles. And again, I focus here as well :)

Damn 80.00 dollars just for two figures, well all I can say is not only have you done well with your star wars collection, you have also done very well with other parts of your collection, I am liking the Ghost in the Shell figures (I actually had the one from the 3D McFarlane set, I had all of these figures from the 3D McFarlane set when I lived in England, unfotunately they had to be parted out to get money to come over here, I also had all the final Fantasy Figures from 7 through to 9 I think - whichever had the monkey boy in it).

I also love anime, Shirow, Manabe and Miyazaki are some of my all time favs.

My fav anime movie, which might surprise some is My Neighbour Totoro (considering what it is about).

Shipping to Europe is always quite a lot. It is not unusual for European fans to pay over $50 for shipping. And I only ship insured and traceable online.

I'm a huge Masamune Shirow fan, love his work and I have almost all the figures released :)

Gentle Giant does some GREAT work, no question about that.  Too bad their customer service is horrible, as are their shipping department (as far as keeping up with shipping dates).  That Slave Leia is fantastic.  It's on my list of major SW purchases if I ever find her at just the right price!

Indeed they have great stuff. I heard about their bad customer service.  But I never ordered anything from them, shipping costs they offer for Europe are VERY HIGH!

My new display cabinets arrived today. :)  2 of them are on a wall and 3 on the opposite wall (they are joined together so thus they look like being only a smaller curio and a larger one). Each of the separate curios is about 2 meters tall and about 1 meter wide. The depth and distance between shelves is about 35 cm in both cases. I included the Gentle Giant ROTS Vader bust for you to see how it looks like displayed inside

Thanks. It is a small company in my city which made these. They work with German materials.

Well they look great. I sure wish I could find something similar over here, perhaps in a lighter wood grain. I love the look of em with all the glass. I love how it is so open, it will really focus attention on the items inside em and not on the case itself. I can imagine all the dusting you are gonna save yourself too. We have IKEA over here that does some display cases, but I have never seen anything that nice.

I know of Ikea, I've seen their Detolfs but I preferred the custom made curios you can see above. I chose their height, size, depth, color etc as I thought fit. And they are quite cool. These curios are much larger and solid than Detolfs.

The Detolfs are nice, but yours are exquisite!

Thanks Phatty! I maybe would have bought Detolfs if there was a closer Ikea store, but there is one only at about 500 km. in Bucharest. The distance was too big for me so I looked for companies who make custom furniture, cabinets and curios. And I met these guys who knew exactly what I wanted, let me chose every detail and then told in about 1 month the display cabinets will be ready. And they were. :D
