AT-AT Shelf ?
« on: February 13, 2010, 10:21:42 AM »
I have one of mine up on the Work Table for the umteenth time.

I have pondered over this many times. The size of it alone is antimidating but every idea seems to have more problems than solutions.

What i would like to do is something along the lines of the Endor Landing Platform. but that would be huge and mounted on a wall anything behind the At-At couldn't be seen unless I ran it longways. It would be cool to do that then you could display two with the Shuttle on top but again that would be massive and could get expensive.

What would you like to see ?

Post pics of AT-AT scenes.

Give me some clues here guys.
;)

The Endor Platform sounds promising. I would like to see something along the lines of a shelf with a platform on top, but with the walker a bottom platform it stands on and then some type of catwalk that surrounds it, especially along the troop level door where that could flip down. I might try to do a rough sketch and see what you think.

perhaps you are thinking along the wrong lines?
Don't do a shelf...

do a coffee table...  make the entire table in landing form deco and have the walker's be able to fit underneath it with loading ramps and whatnot, then at the centerpiece on top of the table can be the shuttle.

of course... all of this is mute and most likely should be though more upon AFTER the release of the new walker sculpt... since it is supposedly bigger.

Actually Devin a Echo Base Coffee Table (3'x6') has been along dream of mine.  ;D

But for this i still want something ever be it so large it could be hung on a wall and yes the new version i consider.

What it will end up as usual is something SW looking but not movie exact.

When making Displays for sale I work in a size vs. weight vs. cost world trying to display the most toys without looking cramped.

That's a mouthfull.  :D

I would love to see a shelf (platform type) made for the new atat with gangways and catwalks at various levels  around it, especially teh cockpit and troop bay doors and now the speeder level I would guess. I can't imagine how large it would be, but as I have tongue and groove pine walls I could sink multiple small screws into and just recess the screw holes a bit and either insert painted plugs or fil em with wood putty and painted to match so you couldn't even see them. Rodger I am gonna do a drawing and kind of show you what I have envisioned if that is ok.
