hello everyone this is my first review on the yards  but it will also be backed up with a video review on my youtube channel .

well lets get started shall we ..

i received this figure from the Ebay seller Tunghori
Cmdr Stone appeared in Clone Wars season 1 in an episode called "The Gungan General"

There have been rumours about a new sculpt and the loss of articulation:well i can confirm these rumours to be true ....

they have apart from the helmet  resculpted the entire figure  unfortunatley i believe they have also ruined  what had the potential to be one of the best clone figures of the Clone Wars line

ARTICULATION:
the original clone had ball jointed: head, shoulders, elbows, torso, wrists, knees and ankles .with swivel hips
clone cmdr stone  has ball jointed: head, shoulders, elbows and knees with swivel hips, wrists and waist  and no articulation in the ankles! by removing the ball jointed ankles and waist Hasbro has seriously limited the posability of this figure .and thus turned a possible stunning figure into a damp squib. definatley 3 steps forward and 4 back.

the head is a new sculpt and looks a little bit squashed and is touch smaller than the Rex/Matchstick head but the facial sculpt is excellent .

in the comparison shots you'll see that the legs are thicker but the arms are skinnier! also they have a much narrower stance and he is difficult to stand even in "parade ground"stance but if you wish to pose him in any other way without a stand ..2 words...forget it!

the paint apps are generally crisp and precise with the odd one or two mistakes , all stones tattoos are there altho the "53" on his head should be black not grey.

the holsters have also been resculpted and given added depth to better accomodate the dc-17 pistols ,stone also comes with the new sculpt rifle with is thicker and longer ,but due to the loss of ball hinged wrists posing him with it is awkward .

overall i believe this figure to be a monumental cock up by hasbro so much potential wasted...lets just pray this doesn't become the standard clone body because mine had real trouble just standing up!
so i give this figure 6.5/10   "nice one Hasbro you just shot the goose that lays the golden eggs!"

great review wraith, but god i hope this isnt the road hasbro is gonna go down, i never even cared how skinny the legs were or anything (although i do like the new rifle), so this is a total waste for hasbro to do unless there was a big movement about their freaking legs

I was thinking about buying one, but after that review, the chances are slim.  Great review, Jay!

Excellent review, why does Hasbro always ruin what could be great new troopers? I am reminded of the Fi Skirata from the Evo set. They had the potential to just blow the doors off this figure and they just didn't super arty him. Now they have a super arty sculpt that folks like and they make a new one that isn't? Why in the world would they do that!

I ordered my Stone off of ebay. I only have it to be able to put it with my collection. I want to buy the carded one on down the road, just like Bly.

Thanks a lot for this detailed review Jay. I must say this figure could be better but I'm  looking forward to pick this one up.
The paintjob looks great and I like that new rifle design.

Wow that figure is horrible. I would only buy him for my collection and to be carded, maybe spud or someone could be able to fix everything though....
(Squirepec runs to get his tools and checkbook.)

No torso or ankle articulation? Now that is a serious bummer. Wonder why they changed the rifle sculpt?

Why would they change anything?
Especially if it puts the figure behind the already established norm for these figs?
No wrist or torso or feet articulation?
that really explains the brnd new sculpt... waste of effort on their part...
But he still looks nice... still might have to pick this one up...
Nice picks and review W9.

This is a major let down. I had hopes of interchanging parts with the old sculpt. Looks like this might not happen. First thing I do when I get one of these is swap out the lower legs and the hands with an old clone to see if it can be done. Why make new holsters instead of using the part  from the Waxer figure? These new ones do not look screen accurate. I do however like the corrected elbow pads and shoulder pads that don't show the hinge.

Thanks for the review.
