Hi All,

Here's another small 1:35 scale WW2 German vignette/dio that I completed last night.

The figures and raft are from Dragon Models and were built straight out of the box and painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.

The base is a piece of foam cure and a removed some foam so that the raft would sit more naturally in the water. The embankment is foam board built up and and glued and then I used Tamiya's Soil Effects Brown to cover it.

Once dry I then gave the ground work a few washes of Vallejo Light Brown, the small tufts of grass are from Army Painter and the bushes are from Woodland Scenics and the clumps of darker foliage are from MiniNatur.

The water was done by using watered down spakfilla and covering the water area and then once dry painting it Vallejo's Dark Green and once that is dry a mix of Vallejo's Medium Green and Woodland Scenics Realistic Water mixed together and applied that to the base.

Ron

Love the base on these, very detailed

Hi All,

New little Thunderbirds dio with TB4.

Recipe

TB4 - is from IMAI and is an older kit and needed a lot of sanding and I had to fill in the left side as it was a hole where the turning mechanisiam was to wind the motor.

The cockpit was cut out and I scratch built a new one adding the door, computers at the back and also adding a steering wheel and chair using plastic card. TB4 was painted using Vallejo Paints and pastel chalks.

Gordon was made using 1:72 scale Preiser German figure which was sanded down, I used plastic card for the air tanks and face mask and thin wire for the hoses.

Base - is high density foam as are the columns, walls and floor and I used a sharp pencil to do the floor and walls. The sand is watered down spakfilla and and painted Vallejo's Iraqui Sand and the sea weed is vines which have been cut to different sizes and glued in place and they are from MiniNatur.

Very nice Ron. I don't know how you detail so well as such a small scale. I can't even see to read anymore! Off to share.

Hi All,

New 1:35 German vignette and it is a German 120-mm Heavy Mortar Granatwerfer.

Figures and equipment are from Zvezda and are built straight out of the box and painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints, Army Painter paints and pastel chalks.

The base is foam board with a coat of PVA glue on top so it won't warp once the ground work mix from Tamiya is applied. The tufts of grass are from Army Painter.

Nice updates. You're really rocking the Thunderbirds dioramas. The WW2 dioramas are turning out really excellent.
