Wow, the custom figure is awesome. That base though is sheer genius. Off to share.

Thanks Shawn.

Hi All,

Started a new diorama today and decided to do the Bandai original X-wing. I decided to show it with maintenance crew starting to work on it just after it landed.

The X-wing is straight out of the box and is an awesome build and beautifully detailed. The pilots have been modified buy cutting the arms and heads off and giving them new heads from Preiser WW2 German figures.

The other figures are air crew and pilots from from bits box and the scaffolding was built using plasti card.

Hi All,

Finally have how I want the dio the to look. I have used 1/72 and 1/35 parts for the fuel lines that will be added once painted.

The power unit and flood light and barricade are made using 1/72, 1/35 and plastic card the small cargo vehicle was made using plasti card and the steering sticks andcrates are 1/72.

Hi All,

Did some more work on the dio today, I started off by painting the airstrip area with a Vallejo Sky grey then once dry painted it Vallejo Medium Grey. Once the paint dried I then gave it a wash of matt black to give the cracks and joints more depth then I gave the base some oil spill marks using watered down matt black.

Once the paint dried I then used Vallejo's White and watered it down and very lightly brushed it over the grey to merge the black wash and grey together. Once the white wash was done I then used pastel chalks to give it some more worn look to it.

The grass area was given a base coat of Vallejo Brown and then left to dry and then I used Army Painter static grass to cover the area. Once everything was dry I then attached the fuel lines which was an old ear plug cord and cut o size and glued inplace.

Hi All,

Painted the figures and have attached them to the base except for the pilot as I still need to paint the x-wing . The figures were painted using Vallejo Paints.
