Looks fantastic Ron. Off to share. I must say I don't know how you are gonna top your last Mayan work, but you are off to a great start.

Thanks Shawn and to be honest it won't be as elaborate as the 1/6 Mayan dio as this one is just to show people that have emailed me what can be done and give them a few idea's.

Hi All,

Pic 10 - I have added some air drying clay to the lower left hand side of the base as this will be a water section.

Pic 11 - I firstly gave the base a coat of Tamiya neutral grey and once dry it was painted with Folkarts Dark Brown and I gave the stones a wash of Vallejo's Beige Brown.

Pic 12 - I gave the stones a few washes of GW's Snakebite leather and Skrag Brown and once they dried I drybrushed it with Vallejo's Beige Brown.

Pic 13 - I gave the water area two coats of Vallejo's Luftwaffe Cam Green and let that dry and the moss was done by mixing model railway bushes with PVA glue and Vallejo's Drak Green, once mixed I started adding the moss over the base till I got the desired look.

Pic 14 - The spikes were added to the clay and another coat of Dark Grenn was added.

Pic 15 - Is the final result and I added to the water a mix of watered down Drak Green and Matt Black to some Woodland Scenics Realistic water to simulate the water affect you see in the pic.

Next up will be a small and crude  ;D photo novel with the dio in it.

Hi All,

Well I completed a 3-3/4" Indy boulder chase scene about 4 days ago but due to the weather I haven't had the chance to take my usual outdoor shots so until then here is a little teaser.

Hi All

Well the clouds serperated for a few hours today so here is the pics and recipe.

Ron

I have always wanted to make this scene into a 1/6 scale dio and after a few experiments with different materials I decided it would cost less money and easier to make it in a 3-3/4" format.

RECIPE

1: Figures & Accessories  - The torso and legs are from a TLC indy, the jacket and arms are from the Indy horse deluxe set and the head is ToD indy. The whip, bag, gun belt/holster and idol are from the hasbro indy's as well

2: Base and box/crate - The crate was first made using foamcore and the front and left sides were cut out and then balsa wood was glued to the foamcore to make it into the crate. The top of the crate wasn't glued inplace until the lower half of the base was done.  The walls were done by using plaster cloth and cutting different size's and once wet it was just added the the sides of the walls and then it was either spread apart or pushed together to get the stone affect.

The stalagmites and stalactites were made using plaster cloth and again cutting different sizes and once wet twisted one end then pressed the other end onto the ceiling and floor. The boulder was done by covering a foam ball with plaster and then while it it drying getting a damp brush I just brushed the plaster to and even level over the ball.

The roots/vines I picked up from a florist and then broke of pieces that I wanted. The moss is lichen moss which was mixed with some paint and then glued inplace and the ground cover is a mix of real dirt and pulled apart model railway shrubs and some dried lichen moss.
