Hi All

I have put the Pantom on the back burner till some material arrives. Until then I started on this dio yesterday which will be a 1/6 Lost Temple Jungle Ruin for a new custom Indy figure that I'm doing.

Pic - 1, 2, 3 & 4  - I have started on the basic layout of the ruin which is made using high density foam. I have also done some wall reliefs in the inside of the temple and also at the front above the door.

The wall reliefs where done using some scrap foam and drawing basic designs into them using a texta and then using a soldering iron to carve the design out.

In Pic 3 the wavey looking foam coming from the top to the base of the dio is going to be made into vines and roots which will come from a partial tree which is the thick piece foam on top of the roof.

More WIP soon.

Hi All

More of the Jungle Ruin WIP. And I forgot to mention the floor and wall stone work outlines were done using a soldering iron in Pics 1, 2, 3 & 4.

Pic - 5, 6, 7 & 8 - Once the wall reliefs had dried I started using a sandstone rock and pushed it into the foam to give the floors and walls a good aged stone affect. If you ever try this don't worry if you push to hard into the foam with the stone as the small cracks will give it that little extra realism.

More WIP soon.

Ron

Hi All

Little more work done today.

Pic - 9, 10 & 11 - I have added a main feature wall relief this was done differently to the last ones as I used and pen to draw the design and the a toothpick to scribe over the pen and Pic 11 has a close up view of the relief.

I also gave the roof and back wall a few cracks due to old age and stress, the two holes in the roof will be where the roots/vines will come thru. The cracks were done by drawing were I wanted the cracks to be then using a model knife cut the edges then I used a pair of tweezers to scrap out the foam.

The holes in the roof were done by drawing the basic outline and then using a long knife cut the foam and then pushing from the top of the roof to push the cut foam out. The reason I do it from the top is when you push down the foam it will have a more realistic feel to it as thou the stone has crumbled away.

Hi All

wraithnine - Thanks for the kind words mate and here is the start of the vines/roots/tree.

Pic - 12, 13, 14 & 15 - As you can see the vines/tree are taking shape by using aluminium foil. I tore lengths of foil and scruntched them up and place them over the foam and then glued them inplace.

I then made off shoot vines by again tearing lengths of foil and twisting them to the how I wanted them and then glued them inplace. I'll let this dry for a good 20 hours and then start on plastering the vines/roots/tree tomorrow.

Looks great! I really like the technique you used to give the stone a realistic surface. I think the Indy font you used in the pics is cool too.

Hi All

Tamer, mr.Jedi1977, Luke Sprywalker & XTS_Operative - Guys I really appreciate the replies thank you and Shawn as always appreciate the FP buddy.

XTS glad you like the font mate, when I take my pics I like to try and have a font as close to the style of the character as I can, I think it just adds that extra little something.

Hi All

Well guys a little more progress to wet your appetites.

Pic - 16, 17, 18 & 19 - The plaster and woodglue mix has been added over the top of the foil. I gave it two thick coats and then let dry for about 3 hours and once dry added another mix of plaster and woodglue but made this last coat a little more watery to smooth it out a little but not to much.

I don't know if you can see it but I also used the soldering iron on the large wall releif to give it more depth.

Ron
