Hi All

After being attacked and becoming severely damaged by a Klingon Battle cruiser the U.S.S APACHE NCC-1968 Captain orders all hands to abandon ship. The escape pods reach the planet SALMAR MINOR VII a muddy swamp planet void of any intelligent life.

Several pods are destroyed by the Klingon Battle cruiser before they could reach the atmosphere, one escape pod does make it and lands in a muddy bog,  Science Officer P.T McPhillips and Ensign R.W Stern survive and start to find shelter.  Five hours after the landing McPhillips and Stern come under attack by a klingon landing party and they fight hand to hand with the klingons.

After several minutes Stern is able to kill the agressor with his phaser and then turns o help McPhillips,  he fires at the klingon and kills him instantly.  Stern runs to McPhillips aid and see's he has several wounds inflicted by the klingon, Stern helps him the best he can and then picks him up and starts to find a place to hide till help arrives.

Now the the two must fight for their SURVIVAL till helps arrives.

RECIPE

Figures - the bodies and hands are from Sideshow and the heads are from Dragon, the uniforms are again  from D-Art Studios http://www.d-artstudios.com/index.htm.  The phaser is a recast from an old SPOCK AMY kit.

Base - is built up with foam core and balsa wood, the figures and scenery were placed in position and then plaster of paris mix was poured in and let to dry. Once dry the plaster was painted dark brown and then a mixture of woodland scenics realistic water and light brown were poured over the top of the plaster to get the muddy water look.

The plants and drift wood are from the local pet shop and the algae is woodland scenics shrubs just broken down and sprinkled over the base.

Looks good to me Mr. Hembling, on the front page. I was glad to get a synopsis of the episode too as I don't recall that one and really wish I could find it now. I need to see if I can find an online tv site to go back and watch some of these as I really did like some of the older episodes with Shatner and crew rather than all the new series that happened. To each his own though. I have been meaning to ask you your opinion on the newer Star Trek TV Series.

Excellent dio, ron! The boggy feel of your groundwork is perfect and the detail to the figures is exquisite. I especially like the tears and wounds to the one figure's torso.

Spud is right in that it was usually the unknown red shirt away team member that always bought it.

Hi All

Appreciate the feedback on the dio thank you.

And yes the poor red shirts always got the raw end of the deal that was for sure but I didn't have any red shirts so I figured a blue shirt had to be the next in line. ;D

And Tamer the story was something I just made up for fun but I have no doubt that it  would have worked in an TOS series. As for ST series as like you I grew up on TOS and loved it and still do the other series I also liked alot but as with all the series I found that they started off way to slow and then got excellent as they went on then that's when they always cancelled them.

I've always been surprised that they never made a ST series from different persectives and different era's so one week we would see the federation then the klingons then the Vulcans and so on.

But my favourite series besides TOS would have to be in this order.

1 - TOS
2 - Enterprise
3 - Voyager
4 - Next Generation
5 - DS9

I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan but your dio is phenomenal Ron.
The amount of detail and the realism of your work is outstanding.

hats off Mr. Hemble

Ron this piece really displays your legendary skills. This is museum quality stuff here! The rips in the shirts and the wounded flesh are superbly done. The diorama is more classic Ron Hemble quality! You are awesome with any thing you touch.
