Imperial Scanning Crew BD32
« on: November 14, 2009, 08:51:20 PM »
Got this one at a Walmart today for $7.49
Here is another figure in the ANH wave that I have been looking forward to and even though we all liked what it looked like, I was not prepared for how nice the sculpting on this figure is.

As a superarty figure, this is one of the better looking non-armored imperial sculpts that I have ever seen. I can't believe that they haven't made this figure till now and his look just whips anything else that has ever come close. He comes with a standard imperial pistol that fits snugly into his belt mounted holster.  Also included is the left leg of the R3-A2 BAD figure, and one of two different imperial scanning equipment cases. The box has wheels on the bottom and kind of wonky paint apps and is not the case that is shown on the back of the package which will come with the second release of this figure, I assume. My only real complaint is that his imperial cap is not removable like the Needa figure but the head sculpt is so nice that it's not really a complaint. This guy would serve as a great figure to customize and could serve all sorts of applications including a replacement for the cruddy potf figure that is included with the new atst. I am planning on picking up more than one of this guy for various custom applications.

Here are a couple of shots with him wearing the needa head and that potf atst driver's helmet and a couple of the stock figure next to that same atst driver fig.

Wow, this one looks great with your new additions Clint. I sure wish they would have just gone and done that begin with! Might have to pick this one up for its Imperial apps. Maybe. Nice review. Time to go get it up on the fp.

This is a great fig,  I have not opened any yet but I did grab 2 yesterday for a future project,  I also have to say that in alot of cases the pack in is a key if I buy a fig on am the fence about and the scanning case is cool dio fodder.

I was a bit disappointed that the Imperial symbol on his shoulders severely limits his range of motion--at least motion that you don't endanger damaging the emblem.

Clint, are you going to cast his holster?
I'm always looking for decent holsters.

I finally opened one of these today, and I really like this fig but 1 other draw back is the non painted boot joints, black boots and grey joints look odd, but we can paint those. Otherwise very good.

What luck I found this guy today! What a great figure. I too hate the way hasbro is casting these the wrong color. I know they are painting the boots but how hard would it be for them to cast the feet and joints black? I also wish the emblems were a bit lower on the arms, I may cut off a small bit of the shoulder.
