JL, no I don't use green screen as i found that the green reflected on some surfaces making it difficult for me to cut images.

What I do is plan what I'm going to do in terms of locations and search the net for suitable images (I usually come accross lots of additional images that I save for the future). when I have the right images I then look at the light source, for example if the sun comes from the left then I photograph the figures or vehicles with a light source in the same direction.

I never use a flash and wherever possible use natural sunlight as it makes it far simpler to play around with the images afterwards.

I hope that is of some help...

JT, I can't help noticing that you seem to be heading in the same direction I did once I had loads of dioramas...I am so impressed with what you have done so far, I can't wait to see how you get on with a photonovel.

I am always here if you need any assistance.

Hi folks,

FYI, I've now deleted all of the other chapters from the forum as I'm now ready for the release of Chapter one pt1....

I'm now happy with the artwork and the text and will now start re-working the next part.

I hope you enjoy the ride!

Guys, I'm really doing some mad stuff with this new movie software...I will keep producing it as a picture story, but I'm really getting the hang of the blue screen special effects now....

Can't wait to show you whats next...it's going to be a real surprise!

Been doing some more work on my baby today...here is one of the images created...

Right now, instead of creating a photonovel, I'm making a movie and then using those images to make the photonovel.....

Ok folks, just so you don;t think I've vanished off the face of the earth I thought I'd just give you a little info on what I've been up to!

The novel seems to be taking me on a journey, 1st it was photoshop, now it's movie making software. It's a lot harder trying to create the polished look using 2d images on a film format, especially as it's a mixture of life photography, custom figures and dioramas and artwork  found on the net, but I know what I want to achieve and I seem to be going in the right direction. Believe it or not, I've probably spent 80 hours on this next chapter so far and I've only got around 3.5 minutes of film made. A lot of the time has been spent getting my head around the software though and so I expect the process to get simpler as I get more practice.

I can't really give too much away but I will show you today's little project. I'm doing a scene which involves a dogfight above Coruscant so there is lot's of green screen effects to work on. I needed a profile view of an LAAT and as I don't own one I had to use images from the net. Unfortunately finding a good image has been impossible so I had to seriously photoshop one. Here is the comparison between the image from the net and the photoshopped one. Note the detailing inside the cabin, that is a texture from a wall panel decal that I warped to add detail inside the cabin.

I bet putting those pilots in that new shot wasn't easy either. It astounds me what you are able to pull off. Nect thing I know you will be working for Lucasfilm. Wow, that is a lot of work for that much film. I can't wait to see that dogfight. You sure do up the anty everytime you work on this. Outstanding.
