Hey everyone!! After almost 12 months of custom inactivity, my brother and I decided to gear up and finish Project 501st! With Uni and helping my parents with rennos and a complete revamp of our new house, we had absolutely no time (or motivation) to finish the beast we started back in January! With the end of uni and the 'almost' completion of our new house, we finally decided to get it done!!
So here we bring you a repainted, gutted and refurbished Turbo Tank, with enough space to fit more than 40 figures! (Now thats how i reckon Hasbro should have designed this vehicle in the first place)!! We gutted the entire interior, drilled a hole through the first level to join it the the underneath and make it a kind of man-hole to allow troops to move between levels (the ladder is missing in action atm :S we'll try to find it LOL)! Downstairs where the speeder used to be we completely got rid of everything, and decided to lay some wall and floor coverings to make it seem cooler.
This vehicle was designed to be used just after Order 66 was executed, and the galactic republic formed. You can see from our wall decos and new Empire symbol that it is in that transition phase and is soon to be made redundant.
The exterior was impossible to paint. Unlike other vehicles, this thing is a beast and its whole exterior is multi tiered and on different levels. That meant that we could only stick to the shapes and lines given to us by the plastic mould. We made fair good use of these lines however, and made it as creative and unique as we possibly could!
