Phatty you took the words right out of my mouth, exelent reply. Sten get in there and get that vehicle done. There is no prize and this is for fun...not so much a contest. Put up some WIP's so we can throw out ideas on it. Get going man!

Here are the pics of what I was able to do late night...

In the last shot it looks like my strap was in front of  my light...

Now I have more details to add on the cargo  hold and the side compartments. Then do the magnets on the shuttle and a second fastener on it and the cargo hold.

Holy cow, that front detail is cool.  heck, its all cool! I can't fathom the origin of many of the detail parts you have shown us. And then what a transformation as it gets some paint. will you weather this vehicle as well, LE?

I am trying to decide where the paint job will go from here. I had planned a Clone Wars look with heavy weathering from the start. As I have pieced this thing together and looked at many cockpit/vehicle photos I am thinking about the look of the AT AT or Shuttle Tyderium. some of the greebies would get a darker grey paint ap, some silver, thinking about some black parts. then a dark grey wash, maybe a brown was in areas like the treads and low stuff.

The cockpit will get a very detailed paint job on all the bits and I am adding several levers as well.

It all sounds good to me. Detail painted to the max, just the way I had hoped.

Dang, LE, you're quite the visionary. You can make gold from a rock.
I swear, if you ever run for President of the United States, you've got my vote.

le the greeblies bring it all together...

intersting that you painted over the disk case's cover... I figured you'd leave it clear, or at least put a window in it....

Ok, LS, I officially love it, love it, LOVE IT!

She looks Imperial and she looks the part!

Paint wise, I'd go for Imperial, not Clone/Republic, after all this is the Imperial Shipyards. As she's a utility vehicle she needs to look used. I'd pay attention to the areas that are likely to have had the most use, give them plenty of oil. You really should do some mechanic type personell for her to finish the ensemble.

I respectfully bow to your greatness.

Thanks guys, I too am pleased how this hunk of junk has shaped up. Jules, I totally agree the Imperial paint scheme is the way to go. Emphasizing areas just as you have described. The mechanic is a good idea or some type of loading crew...hmmm.

Spud I thought about masking an area off to leave a window then decided it would look cool but be very unrealistic as far as the Imperials would have never done that. They would know what cargo they were hauling and there would be no point in seeing it through a tinted window. Great idea though, I just decided against it to make it more realistic.

Barry, thanks buddy. Yes trash to treasure is my forte'. This whole time I have been pretending I am making a ship for a film and cobbling it together like the good old days of the original SW release. Man I would have gave anything to get a chance to do what they did. Lastly, I would never get elected as president, I'm not low down and dirty enough...

Clint, the inside of the cockpit and the cargo hold will have the most color use and more details. I am thinking about leaving the shuttle and parts of the bin with that grey as the main color. The Imperials seem to build a vehicle and paint the whole thing one solid color. What do you think should I highlight some of the grebies with darker grey and silver on the shuttle or leave it grey and just weather it?
