Looking good man! I too can't wait to see how the big one turns out! What are you going to do with the one you spilled super glue on? If you are going to get rid of I I would like to trade with you to make it into an ugly.

Yeah definitely Luke. I hope you don't mind, the paint job now looks a bit messy as after the glue incident, I used the X-wing for some paint tests - mostly different shades of green.

What do you have up for trade?

Dave I have tons of fodder! It would be easier if you tell me a few things you want. Any figure parts you are looking for?

My Hunter Green spray paint came in the mail yesterday. I sprayed over the areas that were left over, and put the finishing touches on it today. You may see some scuff marks on it, but those unfortunately were already on the ship. I bought this used off ebay, wheres the new Red Leader X-wing I got off Rebelscum was straight out of the box. For my customs I like to use ships that are in used-good condition. My stock items I like in just about perfect condition.

Comparison shot - Action Fleet and 1:18 scale

Some minor differences between the two.

AF Version:  Front of engines are a light gray, canopy is black, no black stripes on the sides of the ship.

1:18 Scale:  Front of engines are kept green, canopy is gray, black stripes are now on the sides of the ship.

Hope you all enjoy!

That looks really great! You are making me want to paint one! haha I love seeing an X-Wing with new deco! What one would you say is the most accurate to the descriptions in the books? Does an actual picture exist? I don't remember a green one in the comics...

Thanks Luke! I've read that Horn's X-wing is green, black and some gray. There's no official artwork on it, this was just a design I got and went with it.

I did one last and minor detail to my Action Fleet Corran Horn X-wing. Up until now, the droid I was using was a standard black and white R2 unit. I didn't want to paint it as fear of the paint eventually chipping, even though I do have the matt varnish to seal it up. For a while I have been after the Action Fleet Naboo Hangar/Final Combat playset. I have seen that it can get a bit pricey, but I got a great deal on it.

But you guys know I only collect from the OT. See the little circle up top? Here's a closer look. I was after the playset for this.

I was able to get a pair of pliers and easily pull the R2 unit from the peg. This is the final result

Now I have a "stock" R2 unit acting as Whistler for my X-wing. It's a minor detail, but definitely adds to it I think.

Yepper, it makes it even better. There is a lesson to be learned here. Good one GL1.
