I created these sets to go with my Endor Platform as the kids wanted a rebel base to play with at the same time.
Hasbro or Kenner produced these sets quite a few years ago and I just put in low bits for a couple of old, incomplete sets on ebay. Both are the Hoth Playsets, there is one other I didn't buy which was the Probot Playset, which featured a better turret.
I put a LED in the turret and it's now used as a night light in the kids bedroom, my youngest is convinced that the troops protect him at night. 2AA batteries have lasted about 2 months.
To create these sets I used a spray stone effect paint to give the sides a more rocky look. I then spreayed them in a grey basecoat, then added layers of varying earthy and green colours. I used a picture of a rocky/mossy surface as a reference.
