"Mythic Legions" Magic Effects Sets Review.

"Mythic Legions" Magic Effects sets review:

These sets come in 2 styles- "Heroic" and "Evil", although, to be honest, all of the effects kind of look "evil" as evil characters like Skeletor often use green colored spells, and the skull and snake spells are hard to consider "heroic".

The spells are all made of translucent plastic and are quite rigid, which should keep them from drooping too much in displays.

They are intended for 7" figures, but I will be using them for 3.75" and 4" figures. I will need to source some clear dowels to support the longer spells when used in dioramas.

There are 4 basic spell types- bolt, lightning, mandala and smoke. Both sets utilize the same molds, just in different colors- green, blue and light purple for the "Heroic" set and red, dark purple and gray for the "Evil" set.

There are some amazing sculpts in this set. The skull and snake spells are quite striking with both having open maws. The lightning spells are incredibly intricate. The mandalas have multiple levels of inerlinked rings. The smoke effects are the plainest, sculpt wise, but there is only so much detail you can have in smoke, so this isn't a strike against the sets.

I pre-ordeed these sets for $12.00 each, 2 years ago. They are amazing for such inexpensive sets! I am not sure what the regular price will be as the Four Horsemen store site is currently down while they process the pre-orders, but even if they up the price to $15 or so, they will still be a worthy purchase.

That's cool! Thanks for showing them with the Boss Fight figure, that's really helpful. They look like quality effects. These will be great for fantasy figures. Those green effects would work great for Witches of Dathomir.

They do look like nice additions. I look for them to make these in a bunch of different colors, especially force blue.
