Thin Air Brands "UFO Explorer" Review.

"UFO Explorer" review:

Honestly, I do not feel that this was worth the $19.99 price.

All of the press photos online showed the saucer as being silver like the 2 alien figures, but the actual item is a dull grey. The cockpit hinge feels really flimsy and I forsee these things at thrift shops in the future missing the cockpit canopy due to breakage.

There are some cool sculpted details on the upper and lower surfaces, but corners were cut and several places where the detailing should have continued down sloped areas was left blank and the complete lack of any detailing along the saucer's edge makes the whole thing look unfinished.

The interior is adequate for the included 3" figures, but I am sure that you could cut out some extra leg space under the control console, or just scrap the interior and scratch build one that accommodates 3.75"/4" figures. Someone online showed theirs with a "Fortnite" Human Bill inside, but that figure is super skinny and he had the knees bent up in front of the figure's chest to make it fit in the chair. It works well with the 2.5" "Fortnite" mini-figures though (4th picture)

The 2 included alien figures aren't great either. The sculpt is passable but not super detailed. They only have 3 points of articulation- shoulders and hips, but the hips move in tandem and not independently.

This will require a lot of work to make it look good in any future diorama, but I will make it look really good when it is done.

I would not buy another one at this price, but your mileage may vary.
