I'm a huge fan of Jay's work, so, to see his apprentice posting work on this level is definitely a thrill.
You've been learning from one of the best, and it shows. Your paint skills are fantastic!
I love to see fine work, and your work more than qualifies.
Anyone that Jay befriends has to be an excellent bloke. A blind person can tell that you've got the skills to pay the bills. I really like what you've done.
I, personally, would love to emulate Jay's style, but I will never be on that level, but you, mate, are on course to create some marvelous customs.
Thanks for coming to the Yards, and sharing your beautiful work.

Cheers,
Barry

Hello Sithlord! Glad to see you in the shipyards, I'm subscribed to your youtube channel and love your reviews! Great looking customs, can't wait to see more! I'm especially liking that V-19 Torrent weathering job... I always thought that ship looked way too clean for Star Wars!

Thanks r1bb1t, that kind of praise is more than appreciated. I don't have much confidence when it comes to painting as my hand tends to shake like a sh*tting dog & I have made no end of mistakes, so to get praise from you guys is such a confidence booster!
Thankyou!

Here is a spur of the moment custom, ages ago I hollowed out the helmet that came with the TCW Wave 1 Obi-Wan & put it on a Wave 1 clone trooper.
He's been sitting on my shelf for a while so since I've been bitten by the customs bug, here he is all painted up.

Yeah, mistakes with the painting can be easilly fixed!  ... mistakes with the dremel and exacto knife usually draw blood. Wink lol

Man that weathering technique is amazing.  I'm definately going to have to copy that in my clones from now on.

I read somewhere that hasbro won't be doing any dirty weathered figs anymore because of a large cost at the factory level preventing them from doing it... that's Bull if you ask me.  Hell they've raised the price point on the figs enough you'd think they could afford it, not to mention they are cutting corners everywhere with articulation to save on tooling costs too...  blah...

anyways, as for the shaking hands I can relate to ya there.  I shake horribly as well, I probably will have carpal tunnel sendrom at 30!  I've been meaning to try the tape and paint method and use a guide to get better strait lines, it's just most of the time what I'm painting isn't a strait line!

I don't believe that.

He does Kurgan, I have witnessed it myself, both via webcam & in the flesh. lol, wouldn't think it though to look at some of your outcomes Jay. I still find it hard to believe lol.

Spudafett, I use the tape & paint method too, it gives me a lot more confidence to paint straight lines, just have to be careful the paint doesn't bleed underneath the tape.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.  Smiley

Here is a group shot of all my recent customs, enjoy!
