Lanard's "Star Troopers" Line.
« on: June 19, 2020, 05:10:27 AM »
Coming soon to a Walmart near you is Lanard's new "Star Troopers" line.

This is an extension/reboot or their old "Star force" line utilizing older figures and accessories but integrating new pieces such as the giant alien bug.

These should be hitting late summer or early fall.

Lanard "Star Troopers" alien bugs and parasite review:

Lanard's "Star Troooers" line is FINALLY getting a wide release in the United States after being available overseas for the last 2 years.

The items I am about to review are just part of a larger set that also contains 2 figures, a small vehicle and accessories, but I only wanted the bugs.

The bugs are quite nicely sized and scale well against 4" figures. They are made of a nice, heavy vinyl and have really nice sculpts full of all kinds of unique textures. They only feature 2 points of articulation each though.

The more insictile red and tan one features hinged front arms. The caterpillar-like green one features swivel claw arms. Both creatures have tight paint apps with the metallic eyes being particularly striking. While these releases are not nearly as vibrantly colored as their European releases, they are still great additions to any alien menagerie.

The "parasite" is basically a solid vinyl bug head that fits over most 3.75"/4" figures' heads to show that they are under alien control. It is made of a much more flexible vinyl than the larger figures and features many different types of sculpted details and 2 different paint applications (metallic eyes would have been appreciated here as well).

There is still one more bug in this size that I do not have yet along with three more parasites and a massive rhino-like bug that completes the series, hopefully they will be easy to find stateside in the very near future.

Finally! I do like the look of those aliens a lot. But the rhino one us what I'm really hoping to find. The "big" ship doesn't look all bad either. I could see some potential with it.
