OUCCH! I have had 3 knife accident's one was today. I also had the dremel slip and it made "Scales" up my hand! I have lot's of superglue accident's too. My worst knife cut was when i was cutting of a pouch and my finger was behind it, then it stabbed into my left pointer finger! Also had some close call's with my old dremel shooting up hot plastic into my face!

My worst customizing accident was a few years back when I was working on my "Star(Gate) Wars" line. While making the serpent headdress for Set, the brittle plastic I was cutting with a razor blade shattered and the blade went completely through the tip of my right middle finger lopping off the top most part of the finger (just under 1/4" of the total length). I poured super glue on top of the open end of the finger and waited for it to cure. I wrapped my finger in sterile gauze and lots of medical tape. It took almost 3 weeks for the flesh to grow back (even my fingerprint regrew) and another 2 weeks or so for the fingernail to grow to it's proper length. I have a very slight scar on the leading edge of where the blade entered my finger and there is some slight nerve deadening in the area of the scar but I am otherwise good as new Asode from that incident, I have had over a hundred blade cuts in the 30 years I have been doing this and I have, on several occasions, glued my fingers together or glued my fingers to objects I was working on.

That sound's like it hurt's!!! I counted and i have been customizing only about 2 year's collected figure's to play with for 5 year's and serious collected for 1 and 1/2. before i collected and had shelves i just stuck all 30 fig's in a box and played cause i was only like 7................ but i still occasionally take a couple out to play with! Not the point the point is i have never really had much opportunity to hurt myself cause i haven't been custimizing long and only had a sharp blade for like a year and before that i just did repaint's and used a pocket knife!!!

While using an exacto blade, my hand slipped, the blade caught between my right thumb and forefinger, and tore a 1/4-inch deep hole in my hand with such force that the blade actually snapped. The hole was deep enough to see sinew and tendon!
It healed VERY quickly, however, and there was surprisingly little pain. I was back to customising in less than a week.
I think it was punishment for having to boil and pop two Neimoidians that day...

Oww, I haven't been too badly injured in my 3 or so years of customizing other than some minor cuts from my knife and some hot glue burns which I'm kinda used to now. I've had several close calls like a tube of super glue being pressurized and then exploding when I cut the tip off. Super Glue came out in a single beam from the side and went right to my face lol. The glue was only a half inch away from my left eye, so I got pretty lucky. But nothing too bad so far.

this is what happens when you arent paying attention and you run a utility knife down the side of a ruler cutting foamcore and watching SpongeBob with your thumb sticking too far out........my fingernail stopped the blade from slicing off my thumb tip

Plenty of the usual cuts and slashes, slipped many times with one of these........these are heavy duty carpet knives and cut deep,so far superglue has held me together......I do hate hospital waiting times. http://www.documentingreality.com/forum/attachments/f10/388197d1345983627-autopsy-suicide-guy-stanley-knife.jpgAnd I recently had an incident with superglue.........the bottle fell on it's side and the nozzle wasn't a very good fit anymore due to the glue getting encrusted on the threads so I gave it a good 'york' round with a pair of pliers to undo the lid, nozzle came off too and about half the contents went all over my hand without realizing until the burning began, took a hour to be able to let go of the bottle And then the recent hot glue gun incident. My cordless one was knackered, the trigger linkage popped off so I used the corded one instead............sat down glueing part of my mandalore dio and the missus called me to do something trivial, cord must've wrapped round my leg without noticing (as I'm used to using cordless).I stood up and went to help her out and got in a pickle, glue gun and the excess hot glue around the nozzle promptly left it's roost and plonked itself on my shin (whilst wearing shorts!!) attaching to many leg hairs and removing a patch of skin, and then i had the fun of removing too many hairs with patches of cooled down glue. dremel incidents are relatively minor.........cutting discs catching and skimming over flesh or nail, barrel sanders skipping about and hitting fingers, still customizing though with all digits attached
