Well after hitting the Star Tours attraction at Disneys Hollywood Studios last week I finally figured something out.  What I found out was that the droids from the figure line are part of the attraction.  While waiting in line to go on the ride all of the droids are in the display area performing various things.  I guess it was something probaly pretty obvious, but I never put it together until then.

I'll bet that the waiting area for the ride has changed since I went, 6 years ago.
