IG-227 Hailfire Droid
« on: September 16, 2019, 09:37:55 AM »
I'm excited to announce this will be my first Separatist vehicle! I'll be weathering it in panel washes and adding "mud" to the wheel treads of the Hailfire. I'm going to make this bad boy appear as if it has been through battle and rough terrain.

The vehicle:

I made my own "mud" mix by collecting Florida sand/gravel, adding a small bit of water, brown paint, etc. I'll add PVA glue when I apply it to the vehicle. I'll use several weathering techniques going through the project.

The Mud:

Here are some techniques I plan to employ...

Interesting recipe. It looks pretty good on the AT-ST, so kudos! Look forward to seeing the Hailfire all done up.

Whatever you touch turns into gold, dude! Those videos about painting are probably the best out there. They are definitely useful for my next two projects. So. Thank you very much for sharing!

Those little details and touches make the Hailfire Droid look brilliant! Really dig how you painted and weathered the wheels and body!

Excellent work - 10/10!

Haha, I try my best man. I'm lucky to have found one of these for a decent price. I think I'd like to get my hands on an Octuptarra tri-droid next! I found one missing foot pieces and cannons for pretty cheap...

That mud worked out really well. I like the weathering too. You could a bit of "carbon scoring"  like blaster fire to really top it off. It's a really well done piece, you should be proud.
