WH40K land raider
« on: October 03, 2022, 05:50:17 AM »
This is an approximation of the WH40K Space marines' land raider. I'll go for imperial fists color once I know how :)

The initial attempt:

the core hull from dollar tree. I eventually used 3 of it to make a wider hull and a top.

The hull would be great for most 1/18 figures. But since this is space marines, it needed to be wider to make place for treads, headlights, storage, etc.

That turned out pretty cool! It's a great inexpensive base for a vehicle.

Thank you so much!
One hull would take 12 1:18 figures with their bases easily. so there is good potentials for Mark-V like tanks.

~10$ CAD in new materials:
3 stack-able storage boxes = 3x1.5*1.13
2 side boxes =1x1.5x1.13
1 pack of 6 transparent cups for back engines = 1*1.5*1.13 only 2 out of 6 used

+ probably another 10$ worth in paints, bits, parts, glue, cardboard, etc.

The work continues:

I find this equally brilliant as amazing! To me THIS is the definition of buildung custom vehicles.
Your Land-Raider looks absolutely epic especially considering it's made of a couple tool boxes. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring project!

Thank you all, Imperial shipyard has always been a great source of inspiration!!

I tried to get a similar color to the imperial fists but, oh well... I'll keep trying
