Looking for "polybead" like item..
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:38:01 PM »
Hey guys, don't know if this is the right spot or not.
I'm looking for a polybead type material. Small, semi_hard like plastic beads about the size of peas. Local stores don't carry them and they are expensive so I'm looking for an alternative that I could find locally.

I?deas

Thanks
Spada

my dad used to work for a company that made plexi-glass and when they made it it came out into tiny little plastic beads.... that might work if you can find it somewhere.

it'd help to know what exactly you needing it for or going to use it for...

They would be used in a blanket, so would have to be washable and "chemically inactive" they would be used as weight in the blanket.

Mate unless you buy it direct from a company the only beads I know of are the foam ones the use in bean bags.

the plexi-glass beads would probably work well for this.  It's the same hard plastic "beads" that are used in most of the "beanie babies" stuffed animals.
but where you'll find it or what to search for I realy don't know.

Thanks guys, over the weekend I was able to find the poly beads at the a nearby Jo-anns for a decent price. Only took 7 phone calls and searching 3 days :|

The airsoft bb idea is a great one, I may go with that next time!

Thanks for all the help guys.
