Hi all, I recently just started collecting and making dioramas. I love the rebels tv series, so for my first couple dioramas I decided to make some places from rebels. Here is Callous's office from the show. Like I said I just started collecting so I don't really have any of the characters from the show yet, but please don't hold that against me :) . Also any tips or suggestions you guys have would be awesome. Thanks.

Now THIS dio makes me wanna PLAY!!! Excellent job

Here is a tatooine house I've been working on. The moisture is an interesting mix. Who knew you could actually make something with 2 pvc pipe fittings, balsa wood, a water bottle cap, a wooden dowel, and a pushpin. :)

Here is the cargo hold of the ghost. Now that i have three scenes from rebels, I think I will be making a photonovel next.

Here is my newest dio. This time I wanted to try to make a vehicle, and in keeping with the rebels theme, I made the civilian transport that is used in rebels.

I just got some woodworking equipment set up, so I am going to be transitioning to making dioramas out of wood as opposed to foam board.
-
Way to go. Can't wait to see what you do with that equipment. Got your vehicle on the front page.
-
Thanks Tamer. Here is my first piece out of plywood. It is the start of my next Dio which is going to be the interior of the endor bunker.
-
That'll be cool, man!! Good work on the computer prop!
-
Nice. That will look good in your next dio.
-
been a little busy to be working on dioramas lately, but here is what I've started working on. this is a work in progress on a Tantive IV diorama I am doing. this is one I am doing it out of plywood, so i am having fun experimenting with that. Already, I think I like using wood a lot better than something like foamboard.

Looks good.

Love them Tantive 4 shots.
Looks like the new medium is working out for you
-
thanks guys! to populate the scene I bought the tantive IV set that has 2 stormtroopers, 2 rebel fleet troopers, and 1 darth vader. I am getting some more soon, and the goal is to recreate the first few scenes of A New Hope. One question though, i am going to need to recreate smoke for the scene. I have been advised to maybe use dry ice and water, but do you guys have any suggestions? thanks.

I often thought about making smoke too. You could use cotton balls (sparingly or it looks like cotton balls), spun glass or a product they call angel hair (used for Christmas decorations), they make smoke generators for model trains but you will have to build the dio on a platform to place the generator underneath. Dry ice works great when photographing but not to display.
-
Barry Riddle is a guy who is well known for making smoke effects and explosions using cotton and led lighting. I would check out some of his work on Facebook.

So I finished the diorama for now, I still need to get some better lighting and smoke effects, but here are some test pictures.

So last night I decided I wanted to try some baking soda/snow effects. I had some leftover foam board around so this is what I came up with.
