Title: Customs of a remake....
Post by: solid385 on May 07, 2015, 03:07:35 AM
Hi guys, I'm new here,
I'm intending to remake the prequel trilogy using custom action figures to changes the character design, actors (in some cases) plot, and also retcon a few things....
Obviously some things will remain the same....
please feel free to throw in your two cents, I see this as an ongoing project and hope to do all three movies, starting with the Phantom Menace and keeping all three original titles.....tpm, aotc, rots etc.......
Below is my interpretation of Anakin Skywalker, played by tom hardy and already a very sophisticated jedi in his mid 30's.....(Sebastian Shaw was a man in his sixties so that follows....)
the films centre around him and focus on his GRADUAL transformation into vader....

Very cool.  I had always in visioned the prequels differently than what was presented. Anakin should be about 10 years older and look different and have a different demeanor. Great work hope to see more.

Is that an Acid Rain figure under that?  It's kinda small image, so it's hard to tell.

Welcome to ISY!

I would love to front page your custom post, but the image is too small for me to use. Anyway to make that bigger? Don't forget you can use a free photo hosting site (like www.photobucket.com) and post the [img] code directly into your typed post. If that attachment option is not working well for you.

I will attempt to get a bigger image, I'm on iphone so I'll hopefully have more success with my laptop....

I've added a better pic along with a couple more...some Jedi.
As you can see some of them are pretty old, I kinda see the Jedi order as an aging organization, the Jedi in the brown trench coat is Ben Starkiller, and the other younger man is Obi Wan.

My lord, those acid rain bucks are great for Jedis, too bad they cost so much.

Nice job indeed.

Thanks, I hope to use the acid rain bodies on the more action packed characters...maybe some gi Joes also as some of the newer figures are very poseable....

I hope to cast all the main characters in my new vision of phantom menace and even make the classic "background" characters that Lucas puts in purely to sell toys lol...
Also, id anyone else has any thoughts let men know, its gona be a fun...and long project ????

Here's  my Anakin hanging out with his Storm Squad....a precursor to the storm troopers in my version of the prequels....

Very nice styling, Like the heads. That Starkiller skirt really sets it off well!

Whoa!  That's impressive.  I like the more widened and hardened look of each of them.  You are correct that Anakin should have been in his mid 30's.

Wow, I didn't know those acid rain figures were that well articulated.

Damn, I may need to pick 1 or 2 up just to see what I could do with them.

They are very well articulated but like u say, pretty expensive....I  will only be using them on characters like Jedi and bounty hunters etc...

Wow, larger pictures. Your customs look awesome. Those Acid Rain figures look great as far as a SW Application. Thank you for getting some better pictures for me. Your first post is on the front page.

Time for another front page update.

A closer look at one of my all time favourite characters (from the original trilogy) Obi Wan Kenobi....
As you can see, I like the acid rain basic torso, its not as heavily armoured as clone gear but it provides more protection  than just robes....
Obi Wan in my reboot is an adventurer, always off on some foolish idealistic crusade....we begin episode 1 with Anakin on his way to rescue Kenobi....who has gotten into trouble investigating the "phantom menace" that has been terrorising the republic.....

More to come....

I've made a start on some villains, and I'm  going to concentrate on my version of clones...they will be a similar concept to the metal gear games, in so much as one of the greatest soldiers ever is cloned several times without his permission..I plan on 4 or five clones, these will lead the separatist forces against the republic, and also, my smaller cast (much like the original trilogy) will be more intimate and therefore more manageable.

Rex with a member of his team, he's the one who gets cloned without permission...

A glimpse into the future, as I said I imagine Anakin gets his upgrades as time goes on and his gets more and more battered as he hunts down and destroys the Jedi one by one....i want to be able to respect Vader so I'm trying to present a man who genuinely believes in his cause, he knows very early on that the emperor is using him....hes not stupid....but he continues nonetheless because he feels that the republic has failed..

And he doesn't kill kids....

oh yaaaa!
i
am
LOVING
this.
i started customizing and army building with this very concept in mind, of redoing the series in action figures to my own version. mine was more of blend of the PT and OT together though. REAL life has slowed down my version though.
this is great stuff you got going on. customs are fantastic and the background redo stories are awesome.

Wow, these figures are really impressive! The parts fit together so seamlessly. Your re-visioning of the story-line for the prequels is really imaginative.

I hardly get a chance to check these boards out anymore, but when I do...WOW!  I really love what you've done with the character concepts here!  The Acid Rain figures look fantastic mixed into the SW universe.  If Lucasfilm ever begins to run out of ideas, I hope they consider revising the PT and filming an entirely new trilogy using concepts like yours.  Really fantastic work you have here!

Thanks, those characters, along with some totally new ones, will all be covered in the fullness of time....I want to create a story that can seamlessly lead in to the OT and perhaps even incorporated rebels...so you may see ppl like  ashoka cropping up ????

Anakin and Rex journey to the outer rim territories to discover a very cautious Kenobi. Anakin is frustrated with his former master for charging off into the unknown without informing the council or himself....
Kenobi silents his friends with news of a plot to attack the republic...
Rex chimes in...nobody would be that foolish...
Kenobi reveals that two years ago, when rex was wounded in battle, a small shadowy organisation bent on destroying the republic stole his genetic data intent on cloning him, being as he was perhaps the greatest military mind of the time. This organisation intended to clone an army but the techniques used were nowhere near as efficient as they had hoped.
Rumour has it the did succeed in creating 3.
3 copies of perhaps the greatest soldier in all the galaxy....
With these clones on place, this shadow organisation could be quite a threat to the republic......

Rex was devastated to learn that after a lifetime spent in service to the republic, all his sacrifices and hard won victories could be undone by his very own dna in the form of clones bent on utter destruction....

As the group leave to inform the republic of the phantom menace and its ploy to attack with rex clones, a lone figure watches on, monitoring events in secret
