Frank Diorio sends word about the C7 Diorama Workshop!

"D’Iorio has been leading the Diorama Builders’ area since Celebration II in 2002. He and his group are some of the very first fans who started to make Celebrations “By the Fans; For the Fans.” Each Celebration they have planned and created the experience around a certain location in the Star Wars galaxy, and this time they are building Bespin.

As in past years, the Diorama Builders get lots of great donations from Hasbro to populate the final display. However if you have attended a Star Wars Celebration in the past, you know even that isn’t enough due to the huge size of the diorama that the fans create!

“This is where the Star Wars fans have come in full force every Celebration,” says D’Iorio, and how you can directly help in making this year’s creation another huge success. If you have any figures or ships that were seen in The Empire Strikes Back, or even any Hasbro figures from other Star Wars scenes that maybe are  “vacationing” on Bespin, please send them to our Diorama Builders Figure Fund at the address below:”

Please make sure your figures reach the Diorama Figure Fund before April 12, 2015.

All Star Wars toys donated by fans and by Hasbro will be placed in the final display and be given away to the kids who helped build the diorama during the dismantling of Bespin Sunday afternoon.

“Everything is given to the kids, nothing comes home with me or the Diorama Workshop Staff,” stresses D’Iorio. “The kids, staff and I thank you for your generosity. Star Wars fans truly are the best!”

Just got this message in from Majorie of SWactionnews.

"We all have a Star Wars item that needs a new home.  It could be that Jar Jar cup that aren't sure where or why or how you got it or that Darth Vader tea cozy that you wish you liked more.  Now you have the chance to trade in your unloved/underappreciated Star Wars items and take home something else in it's place!

For the first time ever, the Collector's Lounge is hosting a White Bantha Gift Exchange.  Space is limited, please RSVP to make sure that you get in on this by emailing Marjorie@swactionnews.com.

When:  Thursday, 4:15 PM
Where:  Collector's Lounge
Details:  Bring a wrapped Star Wars item.  It can be ANYTHING.  Something new, something old, something hand made.  The price limit is $20.  The first person (chosen randomly) will draw a number and pick the corresponding gift.  They can choose to keep that gift, or pick something else from the pile.  The next person can either take the first person's gift or pick a new gift from the pile.  This continues until everyone has had a turn.  A gift can be stolen twice.  Once it's stolen twice, the gift is locked and cannot be stolen again. Back in 2012, I was actually planning on attending an American SWC, but it was not to be. I did enjoy the livestreams though, that's a great service by Verizon. Sure, nothing beats actually being there, but it's something.

Man, I was so overjoyed with the newest teaser/trailer. I have a really good feeling about this movie. And I was completely floored by BB-8's appearance on the stage! I wasn't very impressed with him, after seeing the first teaser, because I thought he was just another CGI effect. There are probably some scenes in which he is CGI, but seeing he is a real practical effect made me grin from ear to ear. What an awesome creation and an instant fan favourite.

The trailer for Battlefront 3 looked equally impressive. I'm not that big a fan of the BF series (give me X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter any time), but I'll probably get it, if it becomes available for PS3.

Very excited about Rogue One as well. That's gonna be a completely different SW movie, now that it takes place between Rots and ANH, a period without those meddling Jedi ;)

You can bet your shebs I'm gonna go to London in July 2016 to attend CE3! What a great time to be a SW fan :D

I just uploaded tons of footage on the front page. You better have days to go through the video.

We had a good intereview with Hasbro too. More on that when I get a bit better. Trying to ease back into real life after being in bed since Thursday night. Lets just say I was a bit sick.

Since there isn't an official Celebration VIII thread, does anyone have the slightest of clues as to where the next US one will be held? I'm anxiously refreshing the official SWC page, but all it keeps saying is "see you in 2019!"

I've been saving up quite a bit for SWC8 up until now, so by the Force, it's definitely happening for me in 1.5 years. I have a slight preference to Orlando, since that will seriously cut back on flight time and $$$ :D
