Here´s some more: My Vintage Collection Snowspeeder.I added some details,modified and repainted the pilot und repainted the whole speeder.unfortunately i couldn´t find another Dak Ralter Figure to make the gunner...there´s even the "Bubble Wraps" on the Seatbelts.I hope you like this one too

The AMT kit of the AT-ST was quite some work.I added lots of little deatils,reworked the legs and opend the hatches.painted with Tamiya-acrylics(Airbrush) Detailpainting and weathering was done using acrylics from vallejo

This is the Revell Germany 1:30 scale X-wing snap kit.and i must say that i wasn´t to excited when it was released in 2013 so i got mine very recently
i saw this one on the off-sale in a local supermarkets toysection for half the price,so i finally got myself one.it´s not as good as,say, the kotobukiya 1:35th scale X-wing,and-having a koto in my collection-i decided not to superdetail the Revell kit and just focus on the paintjob.i always loved the original blue markings on the X-wings so this was the perfect oportunity here to do "Blue 4"

some detail shots.i also feel like pointing out that everything is done using acrylics only,Tamiya and Gunze Sangyo for the airbrushing and Revell and Vallejo acrylics for the brushwork.i also experimented with the what i call "reversed weathering" method,using lighter,almost white colored washes and drybrushing with black and dark grey as opposed to the usual dark wash and light drybrush

this is the Concept Snowspeeder from Hasbro.i got it cheap at a con in Germany,so i changed some of the details and added new gun-barrels as well as a new engine-deck.i decided to paint it according to the actual screen-used Snowspeeders in white with orange striping and to do some heavy weathering,again 100% Acrylic paints.
the pilot is a RotS Firefighter with minimal changes,i thought he just fitted the Concept design-look i was going for.

this modell is a little EU inspired,in fact is has no existing "real-thing"...i won a Revell Star-Trek Kazon Fighter modell kit at a Convention and since i'm no Trekkie i didn't really know what to do with it at first...When i looked at the parts i saw familiar"greeblies" on some of them and i thought,it looked a little like a smaller MonCal ship.and there i had it:i got the idea to built my own small Mon Cal ship based on the Kazonship.i raided my spare parts bin for what ever i could find.i used PVC tubing to stretch the fuselage and built up the details from sheet,rod and of course a lot of left over details,mainly from aircraft Kits.the shieldgenerator for example is an Centerline-fueltank from Tamiyas P-47 Thunderbolt...the MonCal Paintjob was done using old frets from photoetched parts as templates to create the patchwork-look with my airbrush.the panellines are simply drawn on with a pencil and a ruler

Ha, I attended the show in 2010 and 2014! I am the only non modell builder there, the one with the oil paintings :) Too bad we did not know each other ... BTW if you don't mind I would like to take one or two of your figures and play around with some graphic art ideas.

Hi Tamer, thanks for welcoming me back :) It feels good.
Yeah, and it is all new, things will be different now, more comic like kind of stuff. I recently discovered this possibilities and it is a great relaxing sidekick to my fine arts. I am also thinking of not only doing Star Wars pics, but also Marvel characters and most of all LOTR. I never did fantasy characters this way... but lets do one step after the other :)

Besides StarWars i am quite into post-apocalyptic modells and collectibles.this here is not"exactly"modelling,but it is figure painting which is kinda modelling also,right?The Figures depicted are Resin Kits from German manufacture"Kellerkind-Miniaturen"and are 1:32 in Scale.i brush-painted them with acrylics.the base is scratchbuild from small wooden strips glued over a mesh to make them look like a soon-to-collapse attik floor.

Well,thanks to all of you out there.perhaps you might like this one too.it? my first post-apocalyptic work and its based on a Preiser "Eve" anatomy model in 1:22,5 scale.i cutted the figure apart and glued her in the pose i was looking for,then sculpted the clothes from Aves A-poxie.the clutter on the base is mostly what i found in the parts bin.the corrugated sheet metal is actualy made from paper...low-tech modelling ;)

I'm quite a Fan of Ashley Wood and especially his World War Robot Paintings,as well as his Line of Figures made by ThreeA Toys.I have a collection of these,but i do so called DIY's as well.this here is a small Bertie Mk2,sold in packs of twelve,all unpainted in either white or black plastic.I reworked the Arms to hold the scratchbuild rifle and added pouches.The chipped paint is done with sponging on paint with a little piece of a sponge which worked well,but some certain spots need to be redone with a fine brush.to see how small it is i managed to get a Inch Ruler,so you don have to bother with milimeters here.The trashbin is from a toy Garbagetruck,most of the little pieces of mechanical details are from the parts bin

Hey there,sorry for my absence here in the past month,but work and family got me too busy.
anyway,i managed to built my first of the new Bandai SW-Kits,and it's the 1:48 Snowspeeder,of course...i built it straight out of the box,but with only one painting option beeing provided in the kit ( Luke's with the Grey Stripes) i painted my stripes orange and used only the Stencil-Decals from the Kit,painting and weathering is done as usual,nothing dramatic here...

Finally,my Bandai AT-STs are finished.I couldn`t resist building two so i can show different weathering-patterns
the build was absolutely straightforward,so i could rush my way to the painting sessions.as usual everything is acrylic paint( Gunze Sangyo)applied with an airbrush.i did some more Color modulation than i normally do,but still keeping the effekt subtile enough.i used Vallejos special effekts Paint set for the first time and i can highly recommend it.for the Base i used PE Fern and lasercut Oak leafes.
i think i will buy a third one,displaying it with the hatches open maybe...?

Just started my Bandai Y-wing,and i thought i share some of my techniques with you.i'm sure most of you are already familiar with all this but perhaps someone isn't...
The Kit is great,i already built three Finemolds and i was surprised to see how much more detail bandai gets out of their Y-wing kit.there's only one Problem,at least for me: only one marking option is provided.I decided to use some surplus Decals from a FM kit and built Tiree's "Gold 2" with the famous burnt(rusted?) copper-coloured tubing.for that i built the kit OOB,but left the tubing on the Frame,were i first airbrushed it with Alclad 2 copper and then sprayed various shades of clear blue and orange very randomly.the pictures here show the finished sub-assemblys,coated with gloss-clear and ready for decaling as well as the tubing still on the frame
i have started to decal the cockpit wedge,using decal softener

next step is a wash.i still use washes extensively with my models,even though i try not to use them with figures,i just can't leave a vehicle unwashed.i use Acrylics,in this case Lifecolor Tensocrom.i mix white,brown and black with flow improver and fluid retarder.this gives me more time to work on the wash,as it dries slower and can be corrected more easily. i mix it 50/50 with water and use a relatively large brush to apply the wash.oh, and i don't wipe it of,i leave it to dry completly at this stage
(oh,and sorry about the mess on my workbench)

Glad you like this,so let's continue:
this morning the wash had completely dried overnight,and i did some drybrushing,using plain white.
after this was done i needed to chip the blue bands on the engine-nacelles.i used a 3/0 brush and valleios Game effects "Rotten White" for this.

after this had dried for about an hour(one of the advantages of using acrylics is you can speed up the dryingprocess with a hairdryer)i started the weathering itself.first i stippled masking fluid over the model,using an old sponge for this helps keeping the chips in scale.
then i used a homemade mixture of brown,black,grey and dark yellow,mixed equally with flat clear to airbrush stains and spots over the model,quite randomly,as you notice,i have the nozzlecap removed from my airbrush for undisturbed airflow.keep in mind that the needle is now unprotected and handling needs to be careful.i keep several pictures of the"real thing" nearby to check what i do.after this i use an old toothbrush to carefully remove the masking fluid.

the results after all this:
now i seal everything with a clear flat acrylic varnish.this is just to protect the work done so far.there is still some work to do here...
next step will be the cockpit,the pilot,of course and finishing the base

final step:
the pilot was painted and the cockpit tub washed.i could have done more,but with the canopy in place you really can't see that much.
the most fun part for me ist the so called"mapping".i use a small but not pointy brush and very diluted brown and grey acrylics and stipple the surface.this creates irregular dark spots.this step can really carry you away,and can quickly be overdone.on larger models like let's say a vintage collection snowspeeder you can use the airbrush for this,but i prefer brushes.finally everything receives a final Clear coat,and this is the only time i don't use acrylics.i like Testors Dull cote,an enamel based paint.this gives a nice deadflat finish.
