So, about six years back I purchased a whole boatload of old Star Wars sets at a garage sale in the neighborhood, including the old Kenner Death Star and, what I thought at the time, the Hoth display set.
However, I recently started wondering if this was actually a Hoth playset, since I've never seen any pictures of any Hoth set that remotely looks like this one, so here are a few photos of it. They have interlocking pieces that allows you to rearrange the tiles in any configuration you like.
I know they're fairly old, because the pegs don't quite fit my modern figures correctly; they're the size of old-school pegs.

EDIT: I just identified them! They ARE from an old Star Wars set after all! Looks to be a combination of Hoth and Bespin displays. Its official name is the 'Vintage Star Wars Action Figure Display Arena 1981-1982 by Kenner'.
Here's the image of the full set!

For an added bonus, here's a couple of shots showing what it is I DO with the things:

If I remember correctly they were just display bases with the TESB card backings. And I love what you did to convert them from SW figures to your own cartoon figures.

This is the kind of garage sale find I can really appreciate.
In the summer of 2012, I made Saturday garage sale runs looking for old Star Wars stuff. Conclusion; people do not want to part with it. If I did see a random accessory in a box, it was because the seller couldn't identify it.
That's so cool how you used the green screen to make cartoon characters. They remind me of some of the old Saturday morning or retro Adult Swim cartoons. Have you posted anything on this process anywhere else.

I have indeed! I was going to make a big post once I finished with the first issue, but if you'd like to read what I have of the first issue so far, you can check it out here! (http://tapastic.com/episode/52465)
