We at ISY are starting a 2014 Secret Santa Christmas Exchange!

What we ask of you is to reply to this thread with your username and say "I'm in" for this and include your primary email address. Tip: use _at_ instead of the @ symbol, to prevent your e-mail from being picked up by spambots, malwarebots, spywarebots, Autobots, or any other kind of bot.

Since we have quite the international community here at the Yards, also state your country and if you're willing to cover international shipping costs. We're mainly referring to intercontinental shipping, such as USA -> Europe, Europe ->  Australia, etc.

So, if you're in, reply in this thread like so:

I'm in (exclamation marks to emphasize your enthusiasm are allowed)
Username:
E-mail:
Country:

This is a general Secret Santa Exchange. While ISY is pretty customizing orientated, we want everyone to be able to participate. This means you are allowed to create a custom (or pick one that's already finished), but you can also choose to buy a nice gift for your recipient. It's up to you.

Participation is open for every active ISY member, provided you have been a registered forum member prior to September 1, 2014. We do not want to risk anyone signing up for this just to get a free gift from another forum member and not fulfill their end of the deal.

If interested, please email me (Mr. Black) a PM with the following information:

Subject - Secret Santa 2014
Username
Your Real Name
Your Mailing Address
A short wish list
Int'l shipping: yes/no

About the wish list: this is optional. You can name up to three subjects you like and also name those you don't like.

Example:
I like Jedi Knights, Jawas, Imperials
I don't like astromechs, Gungans, CW Animated style

Anything goes, but only Tamer can ask for a scratch built 6" scale All Terrain Armoured Transport :D

Then in early October, 2014, you will be contacted via PM with the information of another ISY forum member who is also participating. You will make or buy a gift for that person and mail it to them in time for Christmas. Please email me a PM with confirmation of shipping (i.e. the date when you have shipped your gift).

To all, please remain patient, even if your gift hasn't arrived yet by the time it's Christmas. Postal traffic is insane during the holidays and with international shipments added, its not unthinkable you'll receive your figure in January.

Remember, this is in the Holiday spirit, so remember not to look a given TaunTaun in the mouth (seriously, you don't ever want to do that. Ask Han). Be grateful, say something nice about your gift and show respect. And above all, have fun!

Thank you, and for those involved I will let everyone know who their "Secret Santa" is in early October.

Please note, the deadline to sign up will be 11:59 PM CST, September 30, 2014.

Wow, we're already at seven participants, awesome!

Editorial note: I have moved the option of international (intercontinental) shipping to the private message. I have edited all of your messages by removing your preference from the public eye. I felt there was quite a bit of peer pressure if one'd rather not ship internationally. If you're not comfortable shipping internationally, that's just fine. Some of us have had one bad experience too many, so it's completely understandable.

Heh, if you'd buy me a Gentle Giant Royal Guard statue (which I already have), I won't complain ;)

Seriously, how about contacting me once you know who you have to get a gift for? I could contact your recipient with what you have in mind and ask. Although that would spoil the surprise, of course.

Quick update as Japanese WiFi doesn't like PM' s or emails for some reason. My address is correct, there's just the house name, not  a door number know it's not ideal to post here, but reasons as above, and I don't want to delay this from progressing. Looking forward to getting this started!!

I'll draw the Secret Santas by this weekend. Stay tuned and either sharpen your customizing tools or scout the shopping aisles in advance :)

Alright, fellas. I have just sent out an e-mail to each and everyone of you, regarding your Secret Santa recipient. If you haven't received an e-mail from me, please let me know asap.

It'd be great if you could get your gift out in time for the holidays, but it's understandable if you're a little late, especially considering the international shipments.

Where applicable I have stated the recipient's wishes, but again, it's the thought that counts. Please let me know one way or another when you have mailed out your gift, so I can keep track of it.

Also, if you have any questions, just reply here, or contact me.

To all, good luck and have fun!

I have had a couple of members requesting to send out the e-mail with their recipients again, which is no problem at all (I'm practically cybernetically connected to my phone), so if any of you hasn't received my e-mail or lost it, shoot me a message and I'll resend it asap.

I didn't really know where to post this. I figured this topic as its still open, rather then making a new one or in my collection thread.

My Secret Santa gift came in the mail yesterday. Bobby-brazil had me, and Bobby if you're reading this, thank you very much! Absolutely amazed at the package I received! He sent me a vehicle which has machine guns on it, I believe this might be GI Joe related? I can definitely use this for a custom in the future, for sure. It looks so badass haha. A pilot, Tycho Celchu (one of my favorites!) was seated inside. Other pilots included Keyan Farlander (another favorite of mine!) John D. Brannon (Red 4 at Yavin), Jake Farrell, Shira Brie, and a Hammerhead like figure (not sure of his name I'll have to look him up). The last gift I got was a lightsaber handle. Although not really heavy, it's got a good weight to it. Honestly, when I saw it I actually said "That's awesome."  I have it right on my table, and it really makes a great display piece.

Thanks again Bobby, much appreciated!

Here are some pics.

I am glad you got it, I was going to fill open spaces with clones as packing material but there was no room, the vehicle is joe but it started out as a ice vehicle I painted it as a swamp vehicle. The light saber was made as yoda's before all of the computer help was available. Glad you enjoy it.

Just an update, my will be going out this weekend.
I would have loved to have finished it by now, but real life got in the way. Throw in my 9-5 work, rehearsals for my theatre groups Xmas performances, my voluntary work on hospital radio, chasing acting agencies to get me more jobs & sessions with my voice coach, and even sleep is a luxury!
It SHOULD be with you before Xmas, if not, sorry for the delay, but it is coming your way!!

It's good to see packages have been sent and arrive at their destinations. For those that haven't done so already, I'd appreciate it if you  could report in on whether or not they have sent out their gift yet. My own is en route, but won't arrive before Christmas, unfortunately.

If you have recieved your gift, feel free to post pictures and give a shout out to your Secret Santa :D

Traditionally, we celebrate on the 24th December.
After church tomorrow late afternoon, I will tear into my Secret Santa present and take photos for you all to enjoy.
Something already tells me that I will be more than just happy.

I'll be sending mine out this week, I do apologize for it not being out. Work around the holidays was brutal, then I got hit with a head cold. I refused to take any sick time and worked through it. I'm also waiting for it in the mail, as I bought my Secret Santa gift off ebay. Once I get it in I can ship it out.

Like Shawn said, if you could send me a pm, it's easier for me to keep track. It's unfortunate the Secret Santa round seems to proceed like the Millennium Falcon in TESB.

And if you did receive your gift, please drop a line here as well.

BigKev, I'll contact you when I get home from work tonight.

Alright, I have just e-mailed each member that, to my knowledgde, hasn't sent out his gift yet.

I won't post a list of who's who and what's what in public, but I will keep an eye on e-mail traffic the next few days.

On another note, some of you have stated here or in a message to me, the reason for not sending out the gift. Reasons that are sometimes very personal and in such a case, I'd appreciate it if we could all show respect.

I'm a little late getting on here. The Holidays were very busy for me, so busy in fact I have just opened my Secret Santa gift this morning. I've had it since before Christmas though.

It's been a while, but I just wanted to ask how everyone's experienced the Secret Santa round. Did everyone send and receive their gifts? Are you happy with how things went? What can be improved? Did I do a good enough job as 'moderator' of this event?

Tamer warned me about handling such an event could become a real chore, but I must admit it didn't really feel that way to me.

Feel free to comment in this thread, or send me a pm :)

So sorry I dropped the ball on this one, guys. Like Tamer said, I've got a lot going on on a personal level right now, but once I've cleared that trench run, I'll make sure I'll get back in the fold. I've got an insane amount of catching up to do, not only on what my fellow customizers have been up to, but also on my own work :(
