In the navy, we called an ET a twidgit. Course, I was an engineman so they called me a bilge rat.

I am a "Commo" SGT .... play with radios and computers and satelite equipment and just about everything else that might be remotely electronic... and a few things that arent even remotely electronics related.
At my everyday job I fix all the stuff that i play with when i play ARMY every month. Pretty boring until you get deployed, then you get to play with all the good stuff.
Some days I feel like Sparky from the movie "Down Periscope" ...

Hello,
I'm Commander Kurgan's son.
We just started learning English at school so dad is typing this for me.
Tamer was so nice and allow me to be a member here at the Shipyards. Dad says I am not supposed to post here when he is not around. Untill I can speak English well enough, he will have to help me anyway.
Please be patient with me should I forget to wait for him once in a while.
Sometimes I am allowed to slap some paint onto a Star Wars figure. That's good fun, but often I run out of patience and let Dad finish the paintjob. Playing with my figures and putting them through a lot of adventures is more fun than painting.
I love the Shipyards. There are always wonderful figures and ships to see and I wish I could have them all to play with.
Okay, I know I can't, but it is still cool to look at them and see what you all can do.
I also love the youtube videos of Steve and Jay.

News: I have finished my schooling and have my G.E.D now and I am driving now as well, we still plan to move from where we are at the min, but I need to get a job, hopefully this coming year will land me one.

If your pics are small enough, you can also upload them to our server using the additional options control under the box where you post the text. I shoot my pics in the VGA resolution to be able to do this.

I made my signature pic with paint, but it's not the best, try it with photoshop if you have it.
uploading:
upload your finished banner on flick (max. 580x60 pixel), after that go into your "Profile" then go to "Forum Profile Information" then you will see a box for a signature, once you have uploaded a banner in your flick account click on the image and then, click "all sizes" just above your image and then copy the URL in your browser up top,
paste it in the signature box and add this in front of the URL [img and this after the URL [/img] with no gaps.

Hi everyone!
I just joined up here. I have been collecting for nearly 13 years, and i've just recently started customizing (not so great now, i will share some on the forums). I am a veteran member of the Canadian collector sight snowtroopers, and i saw this website and thought it was pretty cool! (I also saw some videos on youtube from customizers and collectors that referred me here). Here is so basic info:

well i like to paint droids when i go to jeffs house thats why i called myself droiddestroyer because it is the same as the droids from the movies but just backwards and thats what i usually do to the ones that i try to paint is just destroy them haha even tho jeff tells me they are pretty good but i know that he is lying to me bcause he just has the lokk on his face

well like i said i cant mak any custom droid figures when im at home i ahve to goto my friend jeffs house and then i have to leave them over there because my parents dont like me to do that kind of stuff and they dont know that im making toys when i go there becuase they say its too dangerus for me to use knifes and tools and that stuff but they dont know that all i do is paint really i only cut the leg off one droid one time and then i couldnt get it bak together so i dont cut hte parts off anymore when i go to jeffs house

My jango set was over a grand, and its lame. So I have to redo it so it's not worth sharing, it's more of an embarrasment in the how much money I spent on it.

We both use the same profile, and we both work on customs together, so i don't think he's gonna make a separate profile. He'll have nothing to post. We do everything together. I usually design the customs, we both paint, and i'm usually the one stuck uploading everything onto the shipyards, youtube and flickr. However, he's the main driving force behind the growth of the collection. Bids WAY too hastily on eBay.
I don't know if you guys do this or anyone else on this site, but after SDCC, we work out our finances and estimate what we'll earn this year (from B'days, other events, pocket money and job), and then we work out what we can afford and we make like a table of things to buy with prices and release dates n all. Helps us keep track of what we've bought and how much we've spent. It works really well for us.
Oh, and thanks for the official welcome guys...again!!

I have never ridden in a chopper at all but I love em, when I was out at Edwards AFB, the army choppers were my favorite aircraft I worked around (I worked around a lot of different AC). I used to fly RC helis too!

i don't remember edwards air force base ? hey what year did you work there ? i was a co-pilot in a Boeing AH-64 Apache , we named her the marvelous jenny and then we got hit down . my son loves rc helis i've been hit in the head with one too many of those blasted things .

Edwards AFB is the test base for the Air Force, it's where almost every aircraft is tested before it goes into service. The B2, F15, 16, 18, F-22 and all new incarnations of them. Edwards is where the space shuttles used to land and where Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier for the very first time. It's located in the Mojave Desert in S. California, the US Army had a hanger there where they tested various things on/with their helicopters. I was out there from 1991 to 1997.

lol, no worries. I loved seeing the AH-64 longbow we had flying around, I saw them do the conversion on it when the longbow was new. I actually got to sit in the gunners seat once just for fun.

Many of you may of heard of me but if not, here is a little background.
I started collecting the modern line in 1999 when I found that my first child was on her way. At first I was thinking boy so I had no problem collecting Star Wars like what I had when I was a kid. After I found out I was having a girl, I ended up collecting for myself. Yes, she has some figures but I ended up being the hardcore collector of the 3 3/4 line. Within a years time I had everything that Hasbro offered. I hit every Target, Walmart, ToysRus, Kmart, Riteaid, Comic Shop know in the area. I have like 15 of each store surrounding me. I am a loose collector although I have a few things carded, I decided to know follow the path of the darkside and collection carded and variations. It is already expensive as it is to collect every action figure under the Star Wars name.
As far as the internet, I started a little trading board called the Star Wars Trade Zones where I met and traded with collectors all over the world. To this day many of them have remained my friends and still help me out on getting some of the figures and toys that are hard to find. I went by the name of Chewbacca99 or C99 and was a chat/forum mod for TheJawa.com when Steve use to own it. I later left and join CollectStarWars.com where I met many more collectors and friends. When CSW decided to merge with Rebelscum I jumed ship and created my own website called DeathStarPlans.com but later closed down to join Mike at GalacticHunter.com where you will find some of my collection hosted in his Image Bank. I worked there for 6 months and created a vast vintage carded section and built up his POTF2 and early collection sections. Things didn't work out between real life and the site so I stopped for awhile and soon created DeathStarPlans2.com which lasted many years. During the time I had my son. I missed out on renewing that domain name so hence why it turned into DeathStarPlans2.net later. With being in and out of the website seen I lost many readers and collectors due to inactivity and also due to real life situations. Making a come back can take quit some time so I decided to just do what I do best and photograph Star Wars toys instead of running a full blown website. Ill leave that up to the professionals.
My DSD Talk Show is an online comic strip that interviews various webmasters around the net by plugging their websites and material. The show is based on all of us in real life but in figure form in a funny-comical way. As you know I am DSD the Vintage Death Star Droid and Wntermute is Lobot my co-host of the show. You will find many familiar names from around the SW collecting community on all of the episodes. I am also looking forward to getting to know you all here and hopefully adding some of you and your antics into the Show. Beware of the power of DarthBane though, you do not wanna stand behind him during the show. Check out all the episodes that my friends and I have done over the years by visiting my own little section here on the forums named "The DSD Talk Show".
Now I am joining all of you here at Imperial Shipyards along with my closest DSP2 friends to bring to you our work, knowledge and fun. I will continue to do my Toy Gallery and Talk Show comic strip here. You will also find my co-host, Wntermute and I of the Talk Show in the ISY chatroom most of the time so if you wanna stop by and beat us up or shoot the breeze with us, feel free to enter and join us. Well that's pretty much DSD in a nutshell. Thanks for reading this far down and not falling asleep. lol

I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. It's nice to finnally find people who have the same interests. I thought i was one of the few people who did this sort of thing. i started to look on youtube and find other people with some amazing customs, It wasnt untill i commented on someones post that they recomended you guys. and I'm glad they did! Very pleased to be here and very proud to have had videos posted. Working on a couple of customs at the moment (camo forest ranger, Spam bot!!) and sorting out another video with some of my earlier customs. I will let you guys know when i've posted it. Hey all. Brand new here. I started off collecting figures when I was a kid, went through phases of acquiring over the years, and recently got excited to dig them out and start collecting again when the new movie came out. I went through a stint of model building a few years back, and still circle back to KOTOR every few years, so I thought I'd try my hand at kitbashing. This seems like a good resource, so I'll be posting my experiments when I've got them finished, bad as they will likely be.

I haven't begun any real customs (aside from tightening the paint apps on a POTF Mara Jade and removing flash), but I have plans to as my collection expands.
