Title: AT-MT on Ebay.. greatest use of a toolbox yet!
Post by: StenHunter on June 25, 2009, 03:08:05 PM
http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-AT-MT-walker-vehicle-army-jedi-clone-lot-of-8_W0QQitemZ290325923542QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4398c606d6

I found this on Ebay, and I have to admit it's the most creative use for a toolbox yet! It even amazes me that the creator was able to use so many of the toolboxes natuarl features as vehicle/playset features.

It's just a shame 6 walker legs had to be lost to this :\ I also see the top turret from the GI Joe amphibious transport/carry case on the side...

Thoughts?

That DOES look pretty sweet!  Kinda goofy, with those latches on the side, but cool none the less!

That one is indeed interesting. I wonder if it will get a bid?

the poor walkers that lost their legs and all thenewly  homeless tools.... oh the horror....
it looks pretty cool. and that is innovative as well as functional.
how many clones could you really fit in this thing?
very nice but a little steep price wise for me though.

Funny, I was thinking "I bet he ordered replacement legs and decided to use the old ones to make this"

I still need replacement legs for my ATTE, :(

Shows how much I know...why would ya need replacement legs if you have them handy for building a frankenstein like this thing?

rumor has it, and segnett I think started the rumor, that if you contacted hasbro, they'd send you six legs to replace your walker's faulty ones.

Not a rumor but the truth. I don't know the link and never got around to replacing mine but that option does exist.
Too many people complained about their atte's legs falling off.

man that was pretty cool.  I think I could do it a little better though...  but I'd never had the idea in the first place! lol.   the kids liked it too, the ability to have something that could simultaneously store figures and be a play object is what attracts me to it.  I might turn a large tupperware bin into something some day for the boys.  Perhaps a large space freighter or something... idk.

Seg and I thought about turning some old coke crates into an HQ playset once, but now they are paint trays, lol

What a cool walker. Think it should have been called AT-TB. Sure would be easy to carry this one! I could see how this one would attach to a LAAT! LOL. Joker went for over a hundred though!

it sold for more than a hundred?  it couldn't have cost more than 20-30 bucks to build... thats crazy...

yeah, spuda, just crazy enough. . .

:)

Too bad someone can't find a way to get a slew of those legs and a bunch of tool boxes, :)

He has a new item up for sale, this one is more traditional in nature.

I'm trying to place what the toy is based on.. ie.. what was the original stock item.  It's not the Sigma 6 mech..

I took a pic of that box art today, Spud, and the canopy looks different to me. I still can't nail where it came from.

I found it, Spud. Here is a link to an auction for a Target Exclusive ROC r.h.i.n.o. Cobra vehicle. I believe that it is a wheeled vehicle that this flying vehicle launches from. It must be big as the price is.

 RHINO auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-Joe-Rise-of-Cobra-Movie-R-H-I-N-O-Target-Exclusive_W0QQitemZ200365059337QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea6b02d09&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|293%3A1|294%3A50)

Niiiiiice... out of my price-range, tho!

I like that gunship and the atav.  I want to see a good pic of the mole pod - I might turn it into an industrial fixture or maybe a satellite.  I think that atav would prolly make a good base vehicle for the current 'Yards competition!  I'm spending too much on those bloody 99-cent figure auctions to buy one!!

Got to save those pennies, Doc. BTW, I have a couple of 99 cent auctions up, right now. "yuk"

I seen that mole pod today but didnt take a pic. Perhaps I will make it back there or see one in target, this week.

I was looking at the mole pod thing earlier today, and it did really look sweet. and the fig looked really BA with it.
and all the other littler vehicles too. The small quad cannon one person tank and the 4 wheeler and the small cobra jet thing, and the night raven and mobile base... and about 10 different figures in multiples.
was hard to walk away with nothing. My son was disappointed because even I couldnt talk mom into getting us something.
Better off not to get too much now, since my daughter is having her 7th birthday next Monday and we blew most of the toy budget getting her gifts.
There is always next week.

I remember the R.H.I.N.O. (http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/05/rhino/)  it's no way worth $80 IMO, I paid $10 for mine back when Amazon/TRU were running clearance sales! I also picked up a R.O.C.C. (http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/05/rocc/) for $15, very cool vehicles!

Yeah, the base vehicle is the rhino's helicopter, I picked up 3 of them for six bucks each when DTC was going out of style, I've had to put them on EBay, but I do still have one.

They'll be clearanced at target, eventually, so try to hold out, :)

The legs are from the sigma six mantis mech, that thing destro drove around, :)
