Title: Reverse side of Death Star Diorama
Post by: hangarbay94 on June 07, 2009, 05:09:33 PM
Ok, you asked for it Narceron,

As I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to tidiness and efficiency I made the Death Star playset (shown in my 1st post) reversable.

This is what's on the back...(my kids love this one...)

You guys have had the benifit of seeing about 2 years of my work in a weekend..... I'm afraid you've seem almost all of my stuff now, that is apart from the 1:15 scale Super Star Destroyer playset I've got sitting in my large shed...

(just kidding) :-*

Now I'm working on a photonovel. It really is the next step for me as it will make use of my dioramas and breathe more life into them. Plus if I'm going to make any more it will be for the purposes of a novel. Writing a good story is going to be a real challenge and presents some real advantages as far as personal development goes. That's what has been so good about all  this creating, it has involved so many disciplines. Writing a Star Wars story should be a great way of trying to reignite some of that childhood imagination that seeing the Star Wars films all those years ago awakened in me. I will be posting images of the sets and customs I'll be making as i go along and will post teasers as and when things start to get rolling.

Thanks once again guys, it's been a real pleasure showing off my work here, you are a cool bunch and I'll be sticking around if you don't mind having me?

Who that is just amazing!  How did you make the walls look like stone.  Boy seeing your stuff really gives me inspiration to work a little harder on my stuff.  Keep it up and we are glad to have you around!

I've never checked out the novel section, which is a bit stupid considering my interest in photonovels.

I'll take a look at your work this week and will be sure to comment. You've got me really curious new.

Now I know I speak for all of us when I say we are quite pleased you joined. Your work is awe inspiring and utilitarian in that it can be turned into many different scenarious. Awesome work. I hope you stick around and perhaps let us pry into your construction methods a bit.

I look forward to reading your novels. I really liked Doc's fiction, I hope you will post yours when you are ready.

I am telling you it is starting to get hard to sleep just wondering what great new things you and the other Yarders will post in my absence. Getting up to look at the threads is feeling a little bit like Christmas in June! I thought it was Christmas in July? 8)

Oh, Tamer, I can feel your excitement from here in Mo. That reverse side sure surprized me as I am sure it did you.
Jules, your stuff is simply amazing to look at and would be a dream to play with, to be sure. I, also, look forward to your photonovels and were you and doc to team up to work together on a photonovel project, it would be something really special.
Of course your always welcome here and thank you for sharing your projects and techniques with us.

And, in those shots, your paintjob on the Falcon looks even sweeter.

I'm gonna agree with everybody here, that paint job on the Falcon is killer! Is it just a black wash-and-wipe or did you use some other techniques? If you haven't yet, you should post it in the customs section and discuss!
