Title: Toy Hunters on Travel Channel
Post by: zedhatch on January 26, 2012, 05:36:33 AM
Did anyone happen to watch this when it was on, I know I didn't see a topic about it.

I thought it was ok, not perfect but then again it's a pilot so there are bugs to iron out.  One of the better highlights was the original unpunched Star Wars figures and a Rocket firing Boba Fett.  Kind of a rip off of American Pickers (but what isn't these days right) but an interesting show to say the least.

No word if it will go to a full series.

If you missed it, it airs again this Sunday on the Travel Channel at 6 pm.

Never got to see an episode so I will try to tune in this time. Funny thing is, about a year ago I was thinking about how I could make a show traveling around and interviewing people for the worlds greatest toy collections. Then a spin off on customizers...

Yeah, I had the same thought after donig CAFN Spry. That would sure be fun if you could find a network that would pick this up.

I have seen this show, and it's not bad.The host is kind of an odd duck, but i'll give him props for being a star wars fan,and knowing his stuff. He did find someones customs in a drawer,,and said"Hey,kenner never realesed these.",in which the guy replied,"yeah, those are custom figures."Then the toy hunter gave us customisers a shout out and said how underground this art form is.Yeah,it's a cool show.He really looks for the vintage pieces that are worth some money, and stuff he thinks he can move,or for his own personal collection.I really liked the Return of the Jedi speeder bike he found in that guys attic. How cool would it have been to have that as a kid.
