Title: The official Gi Joe Talk thread
Post by: Mandalore the skepsis on January 17, 2012, 09:59:33 PM
Do we have on of these..I looked and couldn't find one.  So I figured since we have a lot of Joe fans on here, why not start one.

He's playing Roadblock, Bruce Willis is playing Joe Colton, that new movie looks ten million times better thant the first one just based off the Trailers alone.

This looks to me to be tons better than ROC was and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I thought that roc was a lot of fun. Can't wait to get some new figures from this one.

I read that Ray Park who played Darth Maul in ep.1 is going to play Snake Eyes in G.I.Joe: Retaliation. How cool is that?!

I've found a few in my area, they seem to be really popular. I've found them in a few obscure places across the Dollar General, not just the toy section.

Yeah people try to hide stuff so they can come back later and buy it. Or it's just kids.

I found pretty much a whole case of em yesterday. I didn't realize they were so popular till I got home. I snagged the cobra trooper and storm shadow.
It's nice to find something new out there.

I saw them yesterday as well, with Roadblock, Duke, Cobra Trooper, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, and Cobra Commander.  They definitely looked pretty slick, especially the Cobra gang.  Let me know which ones are the HTF ones and I'll keep an eye out for you all.

I've been eyeing the 30th. Storm Shadow figure for some time ago, but man, he's going for crazy prices on the bay! Waddup with that?  ::)

I've also been checking out the latest figures over at YoJoe.com (great overhaul by the way), and I'm fast becoming more and more excited about these figures. The amount of detail in the sculpts and the insane amount of accessories on some figures is to be commended.

Agreed, would have been great if that had carried over to Retaliation.

I've searched SIX local Dollar General store since the "Dollar Joe" line launched. Never seen not a single one. I think they are a myth.

I've seen them @ 2 stores in my AO.  Have bought two of them - Snake Eyes and Shipwreck.  Haven't seen anyone getting restocks, tho.

I've seen all of them but only purchased the snakes, Joes were ok but I had better versions of each.  Stormy was my debate point but I caved when I saw him the one time.

I wanted to go back and get a Cobra Commander - well, to look at him for suitability for a project.

You could probably get those parts fairly easy then.  The torso is just the Crimson Guard torso (which has been reused several times, even on CC himself) the head is from the 25th hooded commander and the arms are from teh most recent cc (renegades one).  Probably save you some agrivation if you are just going to part him out.  There's a comic pack with that same cc (and tripwire) that is almost identical (Minus the arms but the ones in the comic pack almost work better IMO).

Does anyone know of any other Joe figure that uses the same arms as the POC Jungle Duke? I need some good bare arms for a custom that aren't too huge or buff.
