Hot off the press we have been invited to participate in the next fan's choice poll:
"Hello, STAR WARS fans!
Hasbro is pleased to once again invite you and your readers to help determine its next STAR WARS Fans’ Choice figure!
If you have received this email, we would like to invite you to submit nominees from your fans for the Fans’ Choice poll, which will determine a character to be included in Hasbro’s STAR WARS action figure line in 2013, in time for the 30th anniversary of STAR WARS: EPISODE VI RETURN OF THE JEDI.
Poll your readers to determine the characters they wish to be considered for the next STAR WARS Fans’ Choice figure and share your outlet’s top 10 list with me no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
Your outlet’s polling results list should be ranked in order of importance from 1-10. All polling result lists will be combined together (each outlet getting an equal voice) with the #1 character on each list worth 10 points, the #2 character worth 9 points, the #3 worth 8 points, etc. The resultant point values will be used to generate the final ballot of 20 choices, which will be announced in October by STAR WARS Insider on their website (http://titanmagazines.com/t/star-wars-insider/). Fans will then be able to vote on STAR WARS Insider’s site for their favorite character out of the Top 20, and the character with the most votes as of November 31 will be the new STAR WARS Fans’ Choice figure!
Please note: any characters selected from the current STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated series would be done in a realistic style. The winning character will be announced at Hasbro’s 2012 Collector-Fan Media Day event at Toy Fair in New York in February 2012."
So with that being said we will open the floor for nominations. If you nominate a character please use the following parameters:
1. Check this thread to see if the character has already been nominated. If it has, it is no use doing so again.
2. Can you include a picture of the character to minimize confusion (I want to send a picture with our top ten list as well as having one for the poll).
3. Include the Movie or Media that the character came from (ie: TESB, EU Republic Commando Novels, etc.). Remember the more clarification you give your nominee the more votes it may get when we close down this nominee thread.
The nominees will close on Sept. 16th so we have at least one week to have an organized vote and get our email sent in by the due date. Also check this thread as more rules may apply. I am just trying to get this started right now and you know me, I may not have thought of an important parameter(s).

A Bardan Jusik Mandalorian Figure, from the EU (Karen Traviss' Republic Commando Novels). It would be nice if the figure could have removable Mandalorian armor, like the Jango Fett figure with the poncho and afformentioned accessories, so that he could be displayed as either a Jedi or a Mando. As well, an actual Verpine sniper rifle, which is famed in the Republic Commando series, and is used rather frequently for such.

Etain Tur-Mukan from the Republic Commandos novels. I think if they included her baby that would be very cool. The baby was the love child of her and a Republic Commando clone. They had to hide the baby since it was force sensitive.

I think everyone would be interested in a Kal Skirata. He is also from the Republic Commando novels by Karen Travis. Many of the guys here in the Yards including me have made a custom "Papa" Kal, and it would be cool to get an official Hasbro version.

Uh-huh. And they've told us over and over this would NEVER HAPPEN. Now? OMGosh, we'll make realistic/Legacy style figs of TCW characters!
I submit Parja Bralor/Skirata from the RC novels. We have plenty of Fetts on cards out there to customize - we need FEMALE Mandos on cards! (Altho I would most DEFINITELY jump on a carded Kal Skirata fig!)
Also, a Legacy-style Ahsoka - either young or adolescent - would be great. BOTH would be mind-blowing.

Here is another from RC novels. Walon Vau, he is a training sergeant on Kamino. Here is a pic of a custom one by Fiala Fernbrugg. He also has a pet Strill. I think it would be way cool if Hasbro made that too.

I would like to also see a Jax Pavan. He was a Jedi who survived order 66. He is in the book Coruscant Nights I: Jedi Twilight.

And I like the sound of your nominations, do you have any pics?
Remember folks please if you can list your nominations as follows:

3. And this one is most important, do you have a pic for this figure we can use so there is no confusion on Hasbro's part as to what character we are talking about plus I can use this pic for the voting thread.
There are some good ones so far and thanks for the Yaders for including the pic so I know which one we are talking about!

Weren't the B'arin Apma and Mij Gilamar figures originally supposed to be Walon Vau, and Kal Skirata, but they were changed because Karen Traviss didn't like the head sculpts? Anyhow, great nominations CS! It'd be great to see them finally put a fig to either notorious Mandalorian. You too, Doc. I'd love to see ANY character from the RC series, so long as one actually gets made.

it will not make our nomination list. I just don't have the time to research these myself. Matter of fact I am trying to find a source image for the figure I want to nominate.

Tamer, I have not yet found a pic of her. Since she was from a novel series only (no *known* appearances in any comics), a pic is a challenge. She's a female Mando with chestnut hair long enough to braid. That's the best I can do. Since they've already got a nice female Mando mold, it's not a major issue imo.

My choice is (are) Bollux & Blue Max, from the EU...more specifically the "Adventures of Han Solo" books. Bollux is an ancient labor droid and Blue Max is a super-advanced slicer droid who rides around in Bollux's chest.

I'm nominating a TIE Fighter Pilot from the Star Wars Droids comic #8 from 1987. I've always thought that this was a really different but cool take on the usual TIE Fighter Pilot character that we're all familiar with.

I STRONGLY second this choice! I have loved these characters for many years (I read the original books as they were being published in my youth :) ).
Honestly, I'd vote for just about any character that is not yet another Clone or Mando as the line has WAY too many of them.

If one member wants it and follows the parameters it will make the poll vote Rune. Thats why if you see a character up that you want no use nominating it again. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

I like that Sio Bibble nomination! I think a ROTS version looks like it would be good for making a custom of Santa! Not switching my nomination from the Droids Tie Fighter Pilot, but Bibble sure would be a nice one! Just seeing all these good choices shows that there should still be quite a bit of life in the Hasbro line.

Okay, I've got one, but I need a bit of clarification before I finalize it.
My nomination is Laseema Skirata, from the Republic Commando novels. There is no canonical representation of her, but, she is described on Wookiepedia as, "a blue skinned, possibly Rutian female Twi'lek." The need for clarification comes here: did she wear Mando armor in Imperial Commando, and if so, what was it described as? (I never read it, mainly because the series ended for me when Etain died, lol...) If she did, I'd love to see a TWI'LEK MANDO HELMET!!! Removable armor is preferable, but, I'd be satisfied if they pulled off the helmet...

Please folks no messages about what you are going to do, just put up your character, where it comes from, and a pic.
Someone (thinking its Pat or Wayne at this point) is going to have to go back through all of these to make a voting thread so the less clutter here the better.
I may just go through this thread here in a few days and get rid of any posts that do not follow those three parameters so if you have nominations in here make sure they once again have a name, line or movie they came from, and a pic.

I know they keep saying "no" but I'd love the Tonnika Sisters in any way, shape or form. Just re-name them and we'll all be happy.

You know they're going to pluck from the EU novels and video games already... To me to vote for ones you know are in process of being made already (like Tarkin or Hoth Luke) is kind of pointless, you know you're going to get them anyway. No way Big H is going to NOT make ANH Leia, a new vader, or maul, etc. Any Clone or EU Jedi is also ones that I think have much more of a chance than the obscure backgrounders.
I'm throwing my hat towards the ones they say they won't make, or say they won't sell... Tonnikas and Ed Harris Skirata are two they've shied away from for "legal reasons" and probably the three most desired figures in PT and OT hands-down... At this point you know Jocasta is coming, so many people have asked for it... it's clearly become the new Bo Shek, or ICMG, Hasbro says "no" and the fans demand "yes".
Anything from a deleted OT scene, or a background alien from the OT will make me smile! There's a lot of great choices... I can't wait to see what else you guys nominate.

Ok, for better or for worse, the nomination thread is now closed. It was supposed to stop last night at midnight but we gave you a bit of this morning as an extension.
The first thing I am going to do is weed these nomination pages so the only thing we have is actual nominations so when the voting poll gets created that staff person doesn't have too hard a time sorting it all. Give us a few days and you should see the voting thread begin.
