Title: G.I. Joe Retaliation
Post by: beige-4 on April 12, 2011, 11:25:17 AM
here it is

Hasbro’s CEO Brian Goldner today during a company earnings conference call made hint to the possibility that G.I. Joe, Transformers and My Little Pony could be returning to television in 2010. Goldner stated that they planned to have television support for these three properties along with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and a number of Marvel related projects, and that they plan to reveal more details about these projects at their Hasbro Investor Day event which will be held on November 5, 2009 at their headquarters in Rhode Island.

Goldner also confirmed that Transformers 3 had been giving a go by Paramount with a July 1, 2011 release date and that they were also moving forward with a squeal for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.

Goldner also stated during the Q&A portion of the call when asked about the statues of the long rumored Star Wars live-action television series from Lucas Entertainment, that to the best of his knowledge development was still ongoing and the show should come sometime in the future. When asked if Hasbro was working with Lucas to bring any Star Wars related programming to their new television network with Discovery Communication, he stated not at this time.

I liked the first one and thought that it was fun even though the last part with the siege on the cobra base seemed a bit over the top.

I think the next movie comes out in the summer of 2012. The " Rock " is going to be in it as " Roadblock ". I hope they make his action figure look good, especially the head sculpt.

I loved the first film.  It was silly and childish and completely didn't make any sense (I mean, glaciers sink when you shoot them?  Has anyone on the graphics team even SEEN a piece of ice before?) but it was fun!  It was a toy movie, and it did it well in that light.  Showed off the toys, had fun with itself.
The new film looks darker and more action packed; not sure I like Bruce Willis as Joe Colton, though.  When I look at Joe Colton, I see an actor with slightly more hair playing him.  Heck, I think Bryan Cranston would be a much better fit for the character; he actually looks like the Col. Colton from the comics.  Bruce Willis is just Bruce Willis in everything he plays.

So, I figured this thread might be burning up considering the news of pushing Retaliation back to March 2013. I think we can all agree it stinks. Anyone else think its gonna have major reprecussions?

I'll be honest, I'm getting more and more excited for this movie the more times I see the trailer.  Bruce Willis is a great addition, as is The Rock, of course.  Anyone else out there getting excited?

Jessica, Tristan and I just got back from a special early showing of GI Joe Retaliation in 3D. They announced it one hour before the show so there were only 3 groups of people in it. It was almost a private screening. It was INSANE! Bruce Willis was great and The Rock was amazing! And if you are into chicks, Lady Jaye rocked it! The zipline fight scene is just amazing!

The wife hasn't sounded too interested in this one. I may have to force her anyways.

I went and saw this yesterday and like it. Not my favorite movie of all time, but thought it was good.

I loved seeing the character interaction in this.

Cheesetastic fun! Not perfect by a long way, but a million times better than the last effort!

Can't wait to get my hands on some of the figures for customising too!

He's the natural choice for Snake Eyes so I'd imagine he would be back.
