Title: Target
Post by: Clonehead on April 18, 2009, 06:57:16 AM
I just read on Yakface that one of their members found a saralac pit UBP on clearance for $11.01 at a Target in Albany Origon!!
He also found the ESB wave figures, there.

gotta love that Hothy rebel soldier..........

I found one of those fancy wood framed glass cases like I was telling you about that would be a good home for a hothy trench dio.

One of the local Targets here in VA just got the new Comic-Packs. So far they've only shown up in one location.

Oh baby, I found Ahsoka's Starfighter at one of the 6 Targets I hit yesterday - it is SWEET.

Still no sign of the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid though...
Title: Re: Target
Post by: McMetal on August 24, 2009, 01:20:56 PM
Corporate Alliance Tank Droid has now been located and procured! Only 1 left at 1 of the 9 Targets here (yes, I checked them all already)...unfortunately the box had some flaws but I can always exchange it for a better copy when (if?) they finally show up in some numbers.

I can rest easy now...I am reasonably confident that I have everything released to date.

Bring on the Y-Wing!

At Target, was that a $20 item?

is the corporate alliance tank droid the one with the grey/blue paint job?
Title: Re: Target
Post by: McMetal on August 24, 2009, 04:25:22 PM
Yep, it's still $19.99 at Target, thankfully Clone.

Paint job is more of a dull metallic hue, kind of earth tone, not unlike the snail it actually resembles.

I finally saw the snailtank here in Manhattan Ks, but couldnt pick it up.  :'( I managed to spend my monthly allowance already and had to get the wife a nice Birthday present for this Thursday.
I did get the Vong and Krayyt comic packs and an actual Droidbait release fig though to go with the 5 I picked up months ago on ebay. I am really liking them, but havent opened them yet.
If the snailtank is still there and anyone wants it just let me know, and i can try and get it. They said there should be more ships to put out but couldnt really tell me what they are right now. At least this stockperson didnt keep all the good stuff for themselves.
And the Gi JOE stuff was out in full force. A few nice new vehicles like a red mini Raven type ship, a Joe and Cobra flight and jetpack like the old Cobra flying wing with fig( the joe one looked sweet) and a mini Dragonfly style attack helicopter, along with lots more figs of all sizes(3 3/4 on up)

Seen on Target.com that they had the descriptions up for the y-wing bomber, the dooku/speeder set, and the obi wan/speeder set. None were available online but researching the y-wing, the site said that they were available at my store now. I called em up to confirm and talked to someone in the toy dept about it. I gave her the DPCI # and she said she had one in her hand that she would take to the customer care counter for me. Breaking all land speed records, I flew to the store just to find an ARC-170 waiting for me. On the website, it has the same DPCI # listed under the shadow arc. Nice going, Target. Talk about dissapointment.

BTW, when it does become available online, it qualifies for the same discount that the turbo tank did.
Title: Re: Target
Post by: McMetal on August 27, 2009, 10:56:13 AM
Oh man Clone, you got jerked around just like I did the other day!

After I bought my box-damaged Snail Droid, I went to guest services to see if I could exchange it for an undamaged box from the stockroom. The guy behind the counter looked up the DPCI#, called back and confirmed they had "a couple" in the back they would bring out for me to choose from. Awesome!

When the stock drone finally comes out with the boxes, I am crushed to discover it was like an AAT, Republic Tank, and Anakin's Starfighter! THEY ALL SHARE THE SAME DPCI#!!!!

WTF kind of system is that!?!?

How do you run a business without unique stock #'s for individual items? How do you track inventory and manage re-orders? Not to mention it is practically an invitation to commit return fraud.

Drives me crazy!

Title: Re: Target

customclone if you need help posting pics give me or your local mod a pm and we will get you set up!

Once I read this I was thinking scam city with the same dcpi numbers.  Folks will learn that and abuse it quickly which hopefully will show them they better have separate dcpi numbers per item. Having the same is just ridiculous.
Title: Re: Target
Post by: dana.raye.smith on August 29, 2009, 07:13:22 AM
I think the numbers are for cases of individual ships and vehicles.
Like ordering boxed vehicles in a case from EE.
2 larger ships per box, 4 smaller ships per box. Pick the right set to order and everyone is happy, order the wrong one and you are the cause of all hate and discontent.
Plus it is easier for shelf stocking when you do not need to re tag with a new price, and lets face the fact that some of the workers do not even know how to use a price scanner.... need I say more?
I bet that if they look into it deeper, i know they have additional numbers tagged on the end of the numbers in the system.
If not, then they deserve all the evil that befalls them caused by their stupidity.

The other day when I was miss directed about the y wing it was listed as unavailable for online order at this time. I signed up to be notified as it became available for online order. Now it is listed as sold out on their site. Was I notified by email? No. Is there site now on my crap list? Yes.
Title: Re: Target
Post by: McMetal on August 29, 2009, 06:16:46 PM
I noticed it said sold out on Target.com too but figured they just hadn't come in yet.

I have signed up for the item notification on TRU's website and actually got the email when the Turbo Tank finally arrived.

Of course, by that point I had already bought it weeks beforehand at Target.

Found another Corporate Alliance Tank Droid tonight at Target on the way home from work, this time in a very good box. It's mine!

They only had 1 left of course, but right place, right time.

I'm thinking Target is gonna be on the back burner for CW stuff for awhile. Walmart is really gonna be where's it at soon. Good thing too, it's a lot easier covering 5 Walmarts than 9 Targets each week.

What were the exclusive battle packs to be here?

Ambush at Abregado and Assault on Ryloth, I believe.

SDCC placards had the release date for these as 9/6...no sign of them yet.

I want 'em too!
Title: Re: Target
Post by: Clonehead on September 11, 2009, 05:49:45 PM
Yes, I want those battle packs!!

I strolled into my Target today, to see if they had a corporate alliance tank droid and noticed that at the endcap where I seen the Red 2 x wing, last week, They had a couple of tags hanging stating that the x-wing was on sale for $44.99 Down from $49 and that the clone wars vehicles were on sale for $17.99 down from $24.79. Quick as a flash, I dashed to where the normal SW display is and low and behold, there was a snail tank, the only one that they had.

Not a bad savings if I do say so and that sale runs through the 19thnext month. It's only going at selected stores or so I hear.

TPM Legacy Wave Figs made their first appearance last night at a local Target. Previously I had only seen these at Walmart.

They did not have Rumsleg, of course, because that is the only one I am interested in. Frigging karma!
Title: Re: Target
Post by: McMetal on September 25, 2009, 06:00:04 AM
Well, this week is about to end with 0 new toys, the first time in recent memory. What a soulcrushing lull this is.

I feel at this point I have to resort to subversive tactics. One of our local Targets has had almost completely empty figure pegs for weeks now (all they have left is 4 old CW figures) which I find totally unacceptable. I have been thinking about doing this for awhile, but I finally went ahead and printed up a sign which I left yesterday on the empty pegs. It read as follows:

PLEASE RESTOCK YOUR STAR WARS ACTION FIGURES!!!

YOU’VE HAD THESE SAME LEFTOVERS FOR WEEKS…

LEGACY TPM WAVE IS OUT NOW!!!

SERIOUSLY, PLEASE ORDER MORE TOYS – THIS IS JUST SAD

Do I think this will have any impact on these slacker's likelihood to fill those pegs? Not at all. Did it make me feel better to scorn them publicly? You bet it did.  >:(

Sometimes, it just feels better on your end.  Of course, perhaps the manager in charge of that section of the store will see it and wonder and look in stock only to find several cases that were never put out becuase the stockers were lazy!  We can dream, can't we?!!!

I'm thrilled to state this story has a happy ending. They had nothing again yesterday after work, and of course my sign had been taken down, but lo and behold I happened to swing by today on a lark and they had the whole TPM Wave out!

I GOT MY RUMSLEG!!!

Sure, maybe it was a coincedence, but I'd like to think of it as Toy Karma.

At any rate, I am super psyched. I'm officially off the Hunt now! I have Everything!!!

Saw the Geonosis Arena 2 packs FINALLY yesterday at Target...1 full case on the shelf, all 6 were still there. (Easy pass for me)

Anyway, it's nice to see SOMETHING new out there, even if it's Legacy swag.

The new Deluxe Vehicle Fig sets are still listed as Out of Stock on Target's website.  >:(

And no sign on new battlepacks! >:(

In case anyone missed my posts elsewhere, Target now has their 2 exclusive TCW Batle Packs in stock. (At least in the back room)

I was able to score both last night by using the old DPCI Jedi Mind Trick (087-06-0751).

I love all the figs, but I'm not wild about the new packaging. (Taller/flatter)

Good luck!

McMetal, thanks for the info as I used the same trick at my store and brought those battle packs home today.

I seen one red 5 x-wing, two sets of Geonosis Arena 2-packs marked down to $9.99, the exclusive new battle packs, one geonosis assault, one endor, and one geligrub battle pack, plus their figure pegs were full of minty figures from the slave liea wave.

Found TCW Wave 2 remnants at a local Target Friday night. All they had left were a few repacks and a Snow Anakin. Frigging Stone and Sidious eluded me yet AGAIN.  >:(

The spotty distro of this Wave is the worst since the Legacy TPM wave. One case hits one store one day and then it's gone.

I can walk into any Best Buy in town and find the exact same merchandise in each one. Why can't Target and Walmart maintain that kind of consistency?

Believe it or not, the Target's near me are the only stores to get newer figs in with any kind of regularity.
But by the time I get to them, they have sold about all of the figs from that wavve that I want...
Like Stone and Sidious and all the other figs there are only one of per wave case.
And the fact there is an Ebay seller offering up all the "missing figs" from these waves dont help my chances much.
But I have been able to pick up a few from this seller for less than actual cost or just over quite often and regularl...
Just not all of them. And none of them are MOC...
I hate resorting to Ebay for most of my figure purchases, and it bothers the wife more than it does me.

Dude, I could write a book on that subject.  ::)

Target got me lifted big-time today...2 full cases of TCW Wave 2 was on the pegs! (Ok, it looked like 1 Stone and the Talz were missing but it must have been pretty recent) I was able to score my missing Stone and Sidious. They both look AWESOME!

Better yet, it means I can quit hitting the Wallys and Targets in my area until the new BP's come out.

What's funny is, I had read that Hasbro was going to fine retail stores $200 for EACH ITEM found on the pegs/shelves before the release date of 8/1/10.  I wonder if they actually followed through...

On another note, I've been to three targets in two days, and the last one I hit today was the mother lode.  I had to pass on the new BAT-AT, only because it would take away from my CV funds, and I can go back and get another AT-AT any time.  I DID, however, pick up my cloud car.  I also passes on a Pre Viszla, Mandalorian Cop, and more VTSC Cloud Car Pilots, due to lack of cash on hand.  I also had to pass on the variant Archangel with Death Mask from the Marvel Universe line.  It's funny, I've seen the variants from this wave, but not the regular versions!

I went to my closest one today and didn't see squat. I wish Hasbro could fine the ones that don't have it out by the due date. What a waste of gas.

I am going to a target on Sunday so I will look. I think these should probably be at clearance prices probably now if I do find one I will let you know.

I am also thinking those exclusive nine packs are gonna be about nuts to find, especially momc due to how they are packaged and then boxed to the store so that is one I am glad good ole Clint found for me.

I just got back from our local Target and they didnt have much...
The same pegwarmer Vintage figs... 4LOM and Dengar and a few Han's and Luke's.
No new Clone Wars except the Cad Bane and Assassin Droid 2-packs for $7.49... no Senate Commando packs in over a month.
I did find me an AT-AT for $69.99 and was so so close to also picking up the Vintage figure 9-pack for $24.99... they had about 15 of them, but it was enough that my wife let me get the walker. I put it off and never saw them for less in stock.
It was the last one and it was pretty minty... before I opened it.
My wife said she may go back and get me the 9-pack later this week if they still have them.
Here is hoping she does, and that they still have them at that price.

I figured the Yarders might appreciate the heads up on this if you are in the hunt for some of their exclusives or hard to find items.

This first one I have never seen on the pegs and to be honest it took a lot of hunting to find it on their site. They have one that says sold out, but this one says in stock! If you didn't get one you just might be in luck.

The Clone Wars Mandalorian Warrior with Speeder for $17,

Now I can't say for sure as I haven't gotten mine in yet, but this might be a nice way to get an unpunched Rebel Hero Set Three Pack. I am crossing my fingers here thinking if these are coming from a warehouse they will not have reached the pegs yet. And the nice thing about this one is they will ship for free if you order over $50 dollars of em. I ordered just one as Clint already has me a minty unpunched one, so it would take three of these to get the shipping discount.

Target Exclusive Special Action Figure Set Rebel Set

Like I said, I came across this looking for some other items and knew it might come in useful to get some of those harder to find items. It is getting so running to store just costs too much for me for gas and then I am only finding empty pegs. The only bad thing is unless you get $50 dollars worth of the right items you will have to pay a shipping fee and pay tax, but for eight bucks for my order I figured I saved about thirty bucks in gas alone one way. Happy hunting Shipyarders!

So I stopped in at Target today after hitting Home Depot, and saw that they had reset things in the toy aisle.  I saw some things I liked, others I did not.

Star Wars:  They had reset and the TESB Comemerative packs were up.  Not impressed, really, though in pretty good shape (Shawn, let me know if you still need the one you showed above).  Other than that, there was absolutely nothing new.

Captain America: The First Avenger toys are out, and I'm super impressed off the get go.  The figures look ok, nothing too exciting other than my chance to get the Ultimates version and a good Winter Soldier sculpt.  What impressed me was the array of vehicles for this line!  Mid and Large scale vehicles, ripe for customizing.  Just saying.  The articulation looked decent on them, though not as good as say a Marvel Universe figure, oddly enough.

Green Lantern: Not impressed.  The sculpts, especially facial sculpts, looked pretty damn good.  Too bad there was about as much articulation as there were on the Tron figures.  The head, arms, and legs were on pegs, the waist swiveled and that was it.  No articualtion in the elbows, knees, wrists or ankles.  Shame, really.

Pat, thank you very much for asking, but I got one shipped in today and Clint has me one too. I wanted to order online and see if they would send it unpuched and it was!

Sad to hear your report on the GL figures. Guess it will be up to you guys to chop em up and make something good out of them. I must say though that the larger figures in this line sure did catch my eye with all of the GL characters and the Scarlett gal and what not.

I can't wait to find some time to go see all the Marvel Movies. Thor, CA, etc.

Pat has hit hit the nail on the head with those GL figures. Man I bet their fans are upset! There are some great alien head sculpts that I hope to get at discount later. From the neck down they may as well be a statue, but wait, you can move the arms up and down! haha

I know, right?  I was so looking forward to these, and the detail is actually pretty good with a SHITTY articulation.  Those heads will be nice to get, and even nicer if we can get Doc or Clint to cast!

I found out those dpci numbers from yak face.com

Luke's tauntaun "beast only I believe" and the land speeder are both under this number
087-06-1732

The search for Luke tauntaun pack with two figures is under this number
087-06-1749

They are supposed to set these up on an end cap but if your stores don't have em displayed, try giving these numbers to a stockman or customer service person and see if they will pull em out of the stockroom for you.

Happy hunting.

I was going figure shopping the other day and rather than waste a trip the other day, I gave my local Target a call to see if they had any gi-joe figures on hand.
I was told that this store wasn't going to carry any for the time being and heard the same story from another Target that I frequent. Now this seems strange, what with the new movie line waves hitting retail and all and after considering how slack their star wars selection has been of late, I started to get a bit upset.
Has anyone heard of dcpi numbers being released for the new retaliation wave?

I put it to you, corporate Target heads, as I know that you frequent this thread often enough, get some real figures in stock or you have lost my business.

Between Hasbro and the heads of toy departments that do the ordering for the major brick and mortar stores there is so much disconnect I almost feel the same way I do currently about most politicians.

They are just too far removed to make realistic decisions. How can someone who makes hundred of thousands of dollars a  year understand what we need from our government and how can those folks, along similar lines, ever make sane decisions regarding the toys kids or collectors want. I just try to keep my blinders on as the realism is too depressing for me to face.

Ok, rant over.

I was in a Target yesterday doing the dpci trick on a couple of Joe Ninja Dojo packs and noticed in their paultry selection of a star wars isle that they had lowered the clearance price of the darth maul returns pack yet again to $5.98! You guys know how I roll and being the good intentions dealing guy that I am , I was inspired to help them decide that they needed to restock their star wars isle and liberated every one of the maul packs that they had left to a far better home at my house.

I walked through a target yesterday looking for the new joe waves and these jokers still are sitting on their wave 1 stuff. They are really screwing the pooch this time as by the time they put out their wave 2-3 stuff, everyone will already have it. Looks like clearance fodder in their future. no 3 packs were present on their shelves.
No new repack wave in their SW isle although i did get a vintage fig for the $2.50ish price at a different store the other day. I will have to dig around and find that pic. Seen the new release little vehicles on the shelf for $19.99 and this Slave 1 caught my eye. Packaging looks good but man, this box is really thin. This vehicle can't be very big at all.

I forget where I read a review of that ship the other day. When I saw the cockpit and its relation to the overall size of the rest of the ship it was just awful. I think some folks are trying to use this one for their Kubriks. Nough said.

For collectors this one will never sell. Kids might be interested, but this one will be a good test. They sacrificed size to keep it at a cheaper price point.

Lets roast my local target again.

Went in on a mummers quest to find new star wars and joe stuff. Should have known better than to try the Blue Springs MO target store.
Joe wise, the last time I was there, they were still holding onto the pipedream that if they didnt stock waves 2 and 3 that the masses would buy up the wave 1 fodder from last year.
Well it looks like after a clearance event that they have cleared out most of wave 1 but being as they only have 2 shin level pegs dedicated to joe figures now, my guess is that a restock wont come. Oh, and look at this.....they raised the price of the ninja showdown sets from the standard $19.99 to match the higher walmart price of $23.99.

Good job, Target, that lower price on that one item was the only thing that might have warranted a return trip, which wont come from me.

I wont even mention the star wars section unless you are interested in peg warming episode 1 figures and those new 12 inch plastic turds that hasbro has been wasting case space with.

Deluxe 6 inch black series Case read 8-03 but computer said sell em. Case holds two speeder bikes and one jabba

It's exciting to find new stuff.

Craig F. reports to JTA that TARGET starts to put their exclusive TVC Cave of Evil 3-pack on clearance.
It's not on clearance online yet, but found in stores for $19.99 (50% off). One forum member shared that he found it for $12 including tax! So keep your eyes open for this set if you want to add it to your (Vintage) Collection.

It's also worth taking a look at the comment section! Some people shared how they modified that Luke figure. As you know his arms are cotroversially duscussed.

TARGET may receive new stock of the carbonized Version of The Mandalorian:

JTA reports that readers found more units on shelves and it was avaiable online twice the last couple days. So it might be worth to keep watching their online store.

Seen this posted in a toy isle at my local target.
Their average selection makes this sign really funny as this store never has much of anything.

I guess army builders are not welcome.

Now, this is a very interesting turn of events. I guess TARGET gets quite a bit of feedback by their customers.

I watched two new videos on YouTube by Victoria's Cantina (https://www.youtube.com/user/VictoriasCantina) and Out of the Basement (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcAqLUV73tkt36C661z1f8Q), which I really recommend to watch if you haven't already. All three moderators cal the issues with TARGET on point!

I'm sure Victoria would be interested to see your picture, Clint. Mabe there's a chance you can send it to her via Instagram.

Oh god, don’t tell me that 50th black series wave is a target only wave.
That means we won’t be able to get them on their site or in the store

Remember the lovely gi joe classified exclusives that were shortly distributed and never found by most.

Cudos for making them, boo on you for not getting it into my hands

I'll never forget how lucky I was when my host mother took me to TARGET once for all. It was almost an hours drive away, too. Lucky I was to have found the SOTDS Hoth Multipacks there for $39.99 each. They had one of each in Muskegon, MI. One of my luckiest memories of my time as an exchange student. I got so lucky with my host family...

This price must be a mistake in the system, right? I mean the MRSP was $39.99 at the beginning which was already steep, but EIGHTY DOLLARS?! What in the holy hell is happening?!

This set is currently on clearance here in Europe for 20€.
