Title: Custom Action Figure News Q and A
Post by: Tamer on March 16, 2011, 11:53:04 AM
From a previous thread, L.E. stated that perhaps a thread might be created for the next customizer to be interviewed could answer. Well our next interview is with Wraithnine so think about a question you would like him to answer!

Also is there a particular customizing technique you would like to share that we could then share with our listeners? Your technique could be the next one featured on Custom Action Figure News Podcast.

Additionally Doc had a great idea that if someone wants to make us some theme music to open and close the show we would love to see what you come up with!

perhaps we need an entire new section under "imperial creativity" that is a "help" section.  A place where new members or new customizers (or hell anyone) can go, start a new thread asking any kind of question about a technique, or a certain part, or how to use something, or for ideas and suggestions...  then members that have been here a while can either strait out answer the question or point them to an existing thread or section where they might find the answer?

Does anyone have a burning question they would like to see Wraithnine (Rasputin 37) answer? I sent him a list of our questions last night, but I bet I could still talk him into a couple more?

Heh - I have one that just occurred to me this morning.

As a customizing community/family, we are constantly exposed to each other's works and usually find ourselves incorporating ideas from our fellows.  Whose works do you, Jay, find to be the most routinely inspirational and - if possible - why?

Jay has done so many clones from the series and fan fiction ones well over 100 of them. What do you draw inspiration from on the clones of your own creation? Can you elaborate on the "Clone in training gear" along with your response. I have always loved that idea.

doh... of course.  what was I thinking?!

What are the primary motivations for customizing?

A few can think of-

Improvements to Hasbro designs
Desire for new characters
New looks for old characters.

But I think there would be more if you investigated further.

Another great episode!!  Loved the Wraithnine interview.  I haven't done a clone trooper custom yet other than my Cad Bane in Clone Trooper Disguise so it was nice to hear what action figure Wraithnine recommends using for when he customizes his clones.  The info. on astromechs was great too.  Thanks Jay!

Darth Daddy I believe you are next, get ready for some similiar type questions.

Ok folks we are getting ready to go live.

If you have a question you would like asked during the live interview hit the chat feature on the Ustream Broadcast console on the front page and you could hear your question asked during the interview. I am not making any promises as we have a ton of things to get through, but it could happen!

This question is actually for Chad.  Chad I will still be driving home from work when you are on the air.  Can you post the recorded show asap so I can catch it when I get home.  I love your podcast and I hate that I won't catch it live.

Of all the amazing things that come out of the Hangarbay, what is your favorite thing to do? Vehicles, figures, dioramas, web novels, wallpapers, banners for everyone or the ever so popular "you've been Hangarbay'd"? You are amazing my friend!

What is your favorite custom project as of yet?  If you'd like, you can narrow it down into categories:  (i.e. Favorite Figure, Vehicle, etc.)  Additionally, why is it your favorite?  Was it the process it took to make it, it's appearance, a general fondness of it; feel free to go into detail.   :D

DD I will have it up as soon as I can! Thursdays are usually pretty easy nights to get the show edited and uploaded.  Remember when it hasn't come up on Itunes you can listen to the recording of it on the Ustream channel.  I am pretty sure it is there as soon as we are done recording.

Tamer am I right about this??

Chad is quite correct. The USTREAM Live Event will be recorded so everyone feel free to use that till we get the audio file up edited a bit the following day.

Get ready folks, we are working out a few bugs and will be live in a few!

Hello all!

L.E. much like Jullian (HangarBay94) my creative charge comes from my late father who used to use latex rubber to create our Halloween masks every year. I was wondering where your magic hands and infinitely imaginative mind was forged? Is it similar to Jullian's and mine ? Was it Star Wars that sparked you? Or possibly a deal with the devil? ;D

Thanks!
Charles

Please can you ask Esmirelda what inspires him to create customs that are outside of the norm as his style is very much one of odd characters and droids.

Hello Ron, one of your biggest fans here. Just wondering if you have ever seen someone elses work and said to yourself " hmmm I wan't to make that for myself " ?

I know you also like to make non-Star Wars custom like Indiana Jones and Star Trek, is there any other movies or comics/cartoon characters you like and would try to create a custom or dio for? hint hint for example G.I. Joe and Predator.

Chad and I are working on our pop issues too. Poor Chad has to edit all that out when he does the final audio recording though. We aim to get better live though! I am just having a blast though. Daggone it is great talking to artists of my genre.

I'd like to ask what such a good looking girl is doing in a place like this?

And I'd like to ask Wookylover a question as well!!!

But seriously, this is such a male dominated hobby, what is it for the female fan that attracts them to enjoying scifi and Star Wars, and action figure collecting /customising...?
