Picked this one up yesterday at a local Walmart.
Seen on a season 3 episode of the Clone Wars, Aqua droids battled Obi Wan Kenobi on Kamino where these underwater droids were part of a Separatist plan to destroy the clone facilities. Their legs adjust for land or sea mode, becoming feet for ground missions or rotating into propulsion fins in the Water. They have retracting heads to become streamlined for swimming underwater.
I gotta say that this is the coolest looking droid in the CW line up. He just has this intimidating look about him.
The articulation on this droid is impressive from head to toe.
The head extends up or retracts down and kind of has a loosish ball joint in the extended position. The upper torso swivels from side to side, His upper shoulder is a ball joint as is his lower shoulder. At the elbow, there is a hinge/swivel joint. The wrist and hands have no articulation at all. He has a ball joint where the thigh meets the pelvis, a hinge joint at the knee, a ball joint at the ankle, and a hinge joint in the foot which allows front and back parts of the foot to swing toward each other to become propulsion fins. He has a removable blaster that attaches to one arm.
The paint apps look fairly good and authentic to the cartoon episode.
Naturally, he comes with a figure stand, a galactic battle game card, and die.
This one is a welcome addition to the CW collector's Separatist forces.
