Title: BMF Scale Republic Attack Shuttle
Post by: Phatty on January 15, 2011, 06:22:35 PM
It's been reported by RebelScum and several other sites on the web that as seen in a short excerpt in Toy News Magazine, that there will be a Republic Attack Shuttle coming out this year.  While it was seen in print, it is unknown for certain if this will be in the BMF scale or not.  With New York Toy Fair around the corner, keep your eyes peeled to see what comes of this one!

Well now, I am gonna have to get a subscription for this it seems. I am hearing BMF Sandcrawler and now this. Is it too much to hope we get both? It sure would rock wouldn't it.

Ya know, I was surprised to read the rumor of a BMF Sandcrawler, and if that becomes true, I'm going to have to hunt down the Hasbro design team and hang them all.  There's NO WAY a stupid Sandcrawler is going to be more of a seller than a Republic Troop Transport.  Still this Republic Attack Shuttle does look pretty nice, and more of a bet with them pushing Clone Wars so hard.

I do agree that with the whole Clone Wars theme being pushed now that it probably will be this shuttle. Clint found the article and reading it makes one think it is a done deal.

Yep, thinking that they would release this one and the bmf sandcrawler in the same year almost seems too good to be true but it could happen. I would really like to have this shuttle and hope that it's size does the animated one justice.

Here's that article by the way, as posted on rebelscum.

Oh heck yes! I would love for them to offer this one "super sized!" I would also love to get a much bigger SandCrawler.Say one about the size of Robertos!

while this is a cool ship, I'm not a PT or CW collector so this is a pass for me, I would have rather seen the separatists shuttle. I'll stick to OT vehicles.

Ditto. Everytime I see things like this part of me is ticked, but the other part of me realizes this will just allow me to pursue other loose ends in my collection. However, they do seem to like to do one OT and one Clone Wars large vehicle offering per year.

I can't totally tell, but that looks like the Stone sculpt with a pilot helmet head. Vehicle looks good, but I think I'll pass. I'm waiting to see if they make a BIG ESB Slave 1.

i agree stone sculpt with a plain matchstick helmet ! or a new sculpt nubbed version of the pilots helmet

The rumor is that they will make a big slave 1 with esb paint apps. If fact, I'll bet we see it this year.

You may be right on the stone sculpt pilot which is kind of a bummer but that shuttle is just cool looking. I have been wanting one of these ever since I seen one shown on the theater version of the Clone Wars before the 1st season started.

Here is that pic again.

is that a DC-15S pistol behind.. but doesnt really look like it...

the shuttle's sides looks open, and the front turret has the stupid missile function again. at least there's a permanent gun fixture other than the launcher. i wonder how big is the passenger/cargo hold =\ hasbro's a failure at making aptly sized cargo/passenger holds

I am just happy for the TCW folks who finally get their shuttle though, it would have been a shame to not see it made at all. I guess with all my whining I should realize that perhaps sometimes I should at least be happy we are getting something. We fanatics will never get the full sizes we are wanting as it would be unrealistic from a size and cost standpoint for Hasbro to make it. What parent would buy say a full size falcon or at-at in a true 3 and 3/4 scale, there would be not place to put it! I for one would love it, but I will just have to wait on the customizers and vehicle fabricators we have seen here to make things to true scale.

I was thinking the same thing, but I am guessing NY Toy Fair will show us some closer images with perhaps a pilot in the cockpit so we can judge for ourselves what we are getting.

I'm not an animated TCW fan.  At all.  But its hard to make a vehicle "skinny" like the figs - thankfully.  I like this shuttle and I need one for my RCs to be off-loading from.  Very cool!

I was excited when I saw this. I was thinking wow it looks like it will hold a sizeable crew and 2 pilots. Now that I know the inside is a playset it is an easy pass. I may get it when I see it at TJ Maxx a year later for $40-$30. I really wish they would give us a good vehicle then a good playset sold separately.

Yepper, if you are a TCW fan this is your year. L.E. I can sure see your point about trying to incorporate a playset with a ship and missing the mark with both by trying to integrate the two. I guess folks won't know till they get their hands on it though. I can't wait to see what paint jobs and modifications the folks here give it. I could easily see Clonehead and Wraithnie acquiring a hangar full of these to integrate various paint schemes, Shark smiley cockpit anyone? ;D

Yepper, if you are a TCW fan this is your year.

Don't know about that, DePriest said they are scaling back the line this year and trying to manage it more closely. There were a lot more TVC figures on display in NY than TCW.

Plus no TCW mail-away promotion this year, and no TCW SDCC exclusive. (again)

No new battlepacks announced, nor any new mid-size vehicles.  ::)

I was making mention to the new sculpts you guys are getting, the mini vehicles, and the Large Scale vehicle.

The vintage line, even though new figures were shown, I don't think had as many new sculpts per the number shown as did TCW figs. As for the vehicles I didn't see any new Vintage ones either, but hey at least the mini rigs look cool for the most part. I would also think TCW folks would love the Republic Attack Shuttle.

I think it is easy for us all to get disappointed in what we see and there is no way Hasbro is ever gonna please the lot of  us so you can look at it glass half full or glass half empty. We must also remember that they generally save about half for SDCC and with CV being just last August perhaps they were a bit short with both lines as they just unveileds tons of stuff there.

Some people have access to Hasbro images by being a dealer because they are allowed to use these white background images for their sales. I use to have a sponsor that could access this area. Many of the larger websites use these images and sometimes change the background which can easily be done. I found this one on facebook.

You are an example to all of us dads! :D

I really dig the design of this shuttle. Looks like it can tak a punch and I'm a sucker for the folding wing concept. The Imperial Shuttle is one of my favourite OT designs, naturally :)

The vehicle mode looks terrific and while I'm not too keen on the playset mode, I applaud Hasbro for combining both. Shows they designed this with both collectors and kids in mind.

Wow, thats great DD. This is an awesome vehicle for a kid.

I would love to see one of the Yarders review theirs. For me I just can't get past the point where I think if they are making a vehicle it should be a vehicle and if they are making a playset, make a playset!

Yeah,  I wish they would cut out the playset and just make it a vehicle and drop the price but I see why they are doing it this way; so they can try to satisfy collectors and kids at the same time.   I am getting one and displaying it in flight mode with the rest of my Clone machines, but I can also see it being used in a Mustafar diorama with Shocktroopers transporting Vader on the hoversled with Sidious following...grinning.

The shuttle looks interesting, i just can't pull the trigger on it. Not at full price at least. I think the playset part is just plain dumb. a Semi detailed troop/passenger interior would have been better. And for that price, i feel like it should have more than just one pilot...

The AT-AT, at a similar price point, seems to be a better deal imo.
Title: Re: BMF Scale Republic Attack Shuttle
Post by: Stomper75 on November 17, 2011, 11:37:08 AM
Ive got one of these, love the concept of a shuttle being able to land on a distant planet, detach from the rear section and it then transforms into an outpost for the troopers well the front section is free to scout the area or fly back to base and hook up to another unit etc, i know it doesnt do any of this in the shows but maybe in future  ;D

As for the shuttle, wish it was more too scale but glad i bought it, got it for £76 which is cheap here, my local Toys R'Us are knocking them out for £99 :o

I guess my biggest issue is the fact that Hasbro has repeatedly said no to playsets as they don't sell well, but for some reason we seem to be getting the larger vehicles, even that AT-AT for that matter, as improvised playsets. I say make both and watch both sell well. Ofcourse the market is "for kids and not collectors."

Still, if you like it, thats great.

Yeah, i agree with you here..i think when they try to make a vehicle thats also a playset, it winds up being less of both...a jack of all trades, but a master of none. A playset wouldn't have to necessarily be big, or super intricate. Remember the old hoth trench set? When i was a kid i got soooooo much play value out of that! I would like to see small playsets that can complement each other. Make like, a watch tower, an ammo dump w/wall, a small bunker. Individually they aren't very big, but when used together, in multiples, you could make a republic FOB. Throw in some of the AV cannons and you have an artillery base. add a gunship and you could make a staging area. Etc.

All that being said, if the right sale comes along, i may still buy that shuttle anyway. maybe.

Entertainment Earth has the shuttle on sale for $57.
I believe it was on sale for $54 as part of their Cyber Monday sale. I bought one at that price since I felt that was about right.   It does look like a nice vehicle although I agree with the comments about the scale and wanting more room for troopers on the inside. However, I could see how kids might like it for the playset ability.

It looks like there are 17 left and I anticipate that won't last long folks. Who would have thought you would see one of the larger scale vehicles at that price! Wish I could have seen that AT-AT hit that price with free shipping.

I wondered if anyone had. I can't imagine not getting one of these at this price if you even remotely like SW or TCW.

SON OF A B#&*h. So I bought one yesterday for $35, which was great deal. Today they drop the price to $29.00. It never fails, that crap happens to me everytime I buy something.   LOL.

So if anybody wants an even better deal, you better jump on it.

Yesterday, Amazon ran the shuttle as part of their lightning deals which run for a few hours. I lucked out and spotted a posting for this deal and jumped onto Amazon and picked it up for $21.99 w/ free s&h. Awesome deal. I don't need a second one, but am giving this to a buddy of mine who collects but doesn't have time during the week to hunt.  His birthday is next week. It does make me feel better about paying more than twice as much two weeks ago for the same thing.

I just hope this doesn't herald the end of the larger vehicle format. I think there was way too much playset and not enough vehicle in this one. That would be a good question for us to debate on a podcast. Just why is this going for so cheap? I got one for my daughter, I wonder if I ought to order two for me.

25.00 that is a crazy price.

I think your right Tamer, it does have to much play set in it. This would have been nice just as a vehicle. Anyway my boys wanted one and I think it will look good sitting on the shelf with all their other ships.

P.S. got mine in the mail 2 days ago.

Finally put mine together tonight. The playset features seem a bit wonky at best. I would have rather had a shuttle that was more to the correct scale.

Hey guys this is my first time posting in the forums but this is a good one, I went to my local TRU in Calexico, CA a small border town in south Cali, and picked the BMF Republic Attack Shuttle for $5 plus taxes. this is an incredible find you should head to your local stores and check if the price applies across the US.

thank you Tamer, I noticed that, I also went into TRU online store to check prices and found that there are other items at a very low cost.

for example:
Star Wars Republic Interceptor Radio Control Action Figure for $2
Star Wars Sith Speeder Vehicle with Darth Maul Figure $2
Star Wars The Clone Wars - Nikto Guard $0.50
Star Wars STAP Vehicle with Battle Droid Figure $2

but looks like TRU has removed the Shuttle from the online store, I can't find it

Great price on the shuttle!

I always thought this would have been more appealing if it were in Imperial gray... one of these days, I might have to try that.

GOT IN ON THE $2.00 each Star Wars Republic Interceptor Radio Control Clone Tanks! I scored x4 of them online from Toys R us. Ordered them online and within an hour they were ready for pick up at a nearby store. Got them all 4 for $8.52 total. Had to drive across town to another store that had them but still well worth the trip. This was me when I got them for this cheap ----->  0/

Sadly, no stores carrry this within fifty miles of me, but wow what a great deal if you can find them.

If anyone does have them near their stores and doesn't mind picking up a few extras I would love to have a few!
