Title: Clone Wars 2010 Mandalorian warriors battle pack
Post by: FialaFernbrugg on October 09, 2010, 07:44:37 AM
Mandalorian warriors

Comments:
Some Mandalorians are part of the Death Watch, a secret group working to return to the days when Mandalorians were  the most respected and feared warriors in the galaxy. Hiding in the shadows, they put in motion their plans to change the current policy of peace and neutrality into one of war. They hone their combat skills and stock their arsenal, preparing to reclaim their place as the greatest warriors in the galaxy.

Mandalorian warriors:
The Mandalorians who belong to the Death Watch work in secret to return Mandalore to its past as the greatest warrior society in the galaxy.

the pack includes:
*four identical  Mandalorian warrior figures
*three jetpacks without the play feature
*one jetpack with included rocket launcher and rocket
*eight Mandalorian blaster pistols (repacks from the Pre Vizsla figure)
*two brand-new blaster pistols
*two vibro-blade gauntlets
*four basic CW/Saga Legends stands
*four identical "Battle Game" cards
*a dice

the figures:
The figures are repaints of the Pre Vizsla figure without the removable helmet. Every figure includes two holsters for the blaster pistols and a hole in the back to put a jetpack in.
The paintwork is top-notch and a lot lighter than the Pre Vizsla paintwork. The markings on the shoulders are very fine and accurate.
All in all great figures and a nice addition to every Mando collection.

articulation:
*ball-jointed neck (helmet is not removable)
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*ball-hinged wrists
*ball-jointed torso
*ball-hinged hips
*ball-hinged knees
*ball hinged ankles

those gauntlets look interesting....
about the only thing that is compelling about this pack actually.

everything else gets a big "meh" from me.

he clint, if you cast up those gauntlets let me know....

I held one of these sets in my own grubby lil hands this week.  I was wondering if they could be used for, say, young Mando's (teen-aged or so) or maybe unisex-style female Mandos.  The proportions look like they'd work for either.

I passed on them - this time.

Nice that they are super arty. Too bad about the non removable helmets. I will pose em with my other cw mandos.

I will look into that Gauntlet, Spud.

Even though they are scrawny, I am liking these figures.
They do need removable helmets though.  I am not really happy with just a swivel head.
I picked up one of these sets boxed, about 6 more loose figs, plus the Mando with speederbike and a lone Mando from the speeder set.
Along with the four Viszla figs, that makes a nice looking CW Mando display.

That... is a lot of Mandos.  I never saw very many Vizla's, but I did manage to grab one.  For some reason, the Mando's don't look *too* bad as skinnies - but like I said, I think they look like girls compared to Legacy fig's.  I could always repaint the BP fig's and sell them on ebay...  ;D

Dana, you got a Mando army! I had this pack in my hands at the store, but I just couldn't buy it. Hopefully one day Hasbro will make the Clone Wars characters look like "movie" style figures.

That is just the CW Mandos... and there are even more now. Just got another Mando speeder loose and Mando and speeder boxed.
Lots of lowball bids on ebay, and its amazing what you end up winning without even wanting to.
I think I have  just about as many or more Legacy and Evolutions Boba and Jango figs and EE Mandos.

I need to get them all rearranged in the same area... now they are spread out on 3 or 4 shelves in my playroom.
Most were bought for planned customs that wont see completion for quite some time.
Others were bought to man-up my Slave 1's and such.

There are 2 old trashed potf slave ones as well but they are what the wife would categorize as garbage.

Sorry to thread jack.... great review and pics.
Maybe i ought to post this elsewhere....
