That's right everyone, today, Imperialshipyards.net has turned the ripe old age of THREE! Hard to believe that a mere three years ago, a couple of guys with an idea and zero know-how decided to take the leap and create a fan site with one idea in mind: To enjoy the hobby together as one! Well now here we are, slightly more mature, but still playing with toys! SO what does this mean for our fantastic membership? Well, what better way to celebrate a birthday than wishing us a Happy Birthday? That's right folks, I'm talking about a special contest where YOU wish US a Happy Birthday! Here are the details...
This contest is open from today, September 23rd until 8pm CST on October 7th. Using customs figures and vehicles you have ALREADY MADE (no new customs of any kind), and the outdoor elements of your home and neighborhood, create a fitting tribute to ISY in a single photo. Photoshop can be used to add in lettering and special effects such as blaster bolts or lightsabers, but nothing else. Put together your outdoor dio and take a picture and post it here, as well as send it to staff@imperialshipyards.net. Even better yet, our fabulous and hard working staff are absolutely permitted to join in on the fun this year. Only the Admin, Wayne, Shawn, and I, will remain neutral to the contest. To make it even more of a surprise, all entrants will have their name placed in a hat, and I will draw a name for each prize we have available! Prizes include...
ACME Character Keys
Hasbro Products, both carded figures and boxed items
A Gentle Giant Deathtrooper mini-bust (released in October, will be shipped to the winner as soon as I have it in my hands)
Sideshow Exclusive Emperor Palpatine 12" figure, courtesy of Sideshow Collectibles.
All prizes will be chosen at random by me, all prize decisions are final. So get cracking, one and all, and get those outdoor pictures/dioramas going!

Happy Birthday! Wow, look how you've blossomed into a young woman.
As you may have suspected, you are, hands down, the best Star Wars site on the web. Truly a blessing to fans all over the globe. A place where friends can gather and share a common interest, and feel at home, perhaps gathering around to discuss issues or ideas or to just shoot the breeze.
A wonderful site was born three years ago, and that site's name is Imperial Shipyards.net. Can I get a "Hell Yeah!?"
Kick ass site, guys. Any time any of you are down my way, holler at me, and I'll give each and every one of you an hour with my sister, Lurlene...No charge. That's right, on the house. No freaky stuff, though....Naw, I'm just kidding. She likes the freaky stuff.
Anyway, love you guys and love the site. I look forward to seeing this site at the forefront of Star Wars fandom.
On a side note, please don't send me any gifts as I am thankful enough just to see your site, and that's a gift that keeps on giving.

wow, I had no I idea of how long you guys have been here. I joined a little over a year ago ( I think ) and have had the utmost respect for everyone here. For my self and my 2 clones, we have enjoyed every part of the SHIPYARDS and are here almost daily. As one of the other member stated, star wars toys has been like plastic crack, LOL. I come here to get my fix on a daily base.

Alright here is my entry. I call it "Padme Heist". Here we have IG-86 and Bossk kidnapping Padme. Their getaway ship is IG-86's Mini-Cargo ship. He purchased from a down on his luck smuggler that couldn't afford to maintain the ship anymore. IG-86 fixed her up and upgraded her for bounty hunter duty. Anyway, the two bounty hunters teamed up for this nearly impossible job of kidnapping Padme. Count Dooku supplied them with a commando droid disguised as a clone to infiltrate security. The commando droid completed his mission but was destroyed by Padme's Senate Commando body guard. The Senate Commando was unsuccessful in trying to rescue Padme. After he finally chased down the commando droid he was slotted by Bossk.

Yes, you can and should use your own customs! As for how to post it in here, click on "Additional Options" under the text box you type your reply in, and click on Browse next to the box for Attach. Find the image you are looking for, click OK, and then Post and you're all set.

this is called " every faction for itself" - it takes place in the "aftermath"era when the rebellion , the empire, and the republic fight off militias and droids- all of the troops are fighting in the civil war to get to the ISY flag

WOW, 3 years... I can only echo what everyone has said. Since joining I have been taken into the fold so to speak, and I can honestly say that the admin guys here have no hidden agenda's, there are no politics, simply a bunch of guys sharing their often curious fascination and love of Star Wars...It continues to be my favourite place on the web, and a constant source of inspiration.

And here is my Entry...It is my favourite piece of work to date and was also totally my own creation, I doubt I'll ever make anything like it again...The picture was taken on a beautiful spring day, in a woods near my home on a quiet weekday when I had little to do and no worries....

Great one, Jules! I doubt that picture could be retaken in such a splendid manner, as you said, lol!
Mine is still in the works, but I'll hint at its composition... A battlefield, an AT-TE, and one top-notch squad of Commandos Black Ops Imperial Commandos. (In tall grasses, just outside of a forest). I don't want to take the pictures as of yet, for it's a bit muggy, and the ground is still wet from rain. It also looks as if it will rain, so I'm holding off just a bit longer...

There are some great images posted so far but Jules yours really blows me away! You have seriously captured a great moment in time with the suns rays shining through the leaves and all that is going on there. You picture is just perfect in composition and astetic. Bravo! Guess what? I have a new screensaver!

Time to pull it off like Lucasflim did in Norway. Have the actors outside in the frigid weather while the camera folks stay nice and warm and dry in the hotel, well in this case your domicile.

shame i missed out on wishing you a happy 3rd bay earlier, but have been very very busy... my father in law passed away on the 22nd and have been dealing with it as best as i can for Tash.... her mum passed the day after we got together 5 years ago
so i am doing my best to get her through this god awful time....

Well, I've finally gotten in the final prize donation from Gentle Giant, so I drew the names for prizes literally out of a hat last night, and here are the results! Today, we turn 4 years old here at the Imperialshipyards! It's been a wild ride, and I know I hope it never ends! Many of you will notice a dramatic overhaul to our look here. I'd like to thank Hangarbay 94 and Tamer for their tireless efforts over the past few months while we worked on this project. So hang around, wish us a happy birthday, and we'll see what else we can kick up!

I had to update some stuff on my computer cleaning cookies and cashes and stuff to get a site to work cause for some reason one of my updaes was failing... ANYWAY.. I came here and things looked different and I was like.. awww man, what'd that update mess up, lol.. I was looking for some sort of post and finially, I fund it and now I know it wasnt my updates that messed the site up, lol.. congrats ISY, long live the Empire!!!!

Hey Zed has the same BDay we do too. Happy BDay Zed. Thats pretty daggone cool. We will always have to remember to say Happy Birthday to us and you at the same time.
I am glad everyone is enjoying the change which is our gift to you for our birthday. Once again we have to thank Jules and Pat as we worked for quite a few months on this. You wouldn't believe some of our conversations on things as simple as a color here and a font choice there as we really tried to look at every aspect to make sure everything integrated. All I have to say it that its daggone nice to work with folks who I feel care about this place as much as I so that thanks goes to all of you too. This place wouldn't be anything with you!
