Hackcore.... What an entrance!

There really are no words! well there are, but they are usually preceded with several words that cannot be shown on this forum....Sorry guys but single syllable words just don't do this drool making, totally jaw dropping work of art justice....

Every detail , every tiny part has been perfectly placed. the sheer scale and precision is just awesome!  To be given such a creative gift, to be so skilled really is proof that there must be a God.

Hackcore, your work is that of a genius, and for an almost lifelong Star Wars fan and keen model maker I really am blown away. I've got the picture book of the movie models from Star Wars and no word of a lie, yours are indistinguishable. In fact some of your Star Wars models have never even been created by ILM, so they are totally unique. The YT freighter, it's not a 2000, it's a larger variant, is a thing of wonder, another one-off of pure awesomeness. Also your weathering, it's totally consistent and absolutely spot on. Each skill set you have is just mind blowing.

It really is a privilege having you here at ISY.  Your work is featured on our front page!

Welcome!

H, (may I call you "H"?)

What type is the YT freighter, it looks like a larger version of the Otana?  Man....it's porn to a Star Wars fan like me!!!

I just don't know what to say...my brain just melted. Let me go back and look at these pictures, maybe I'll be able to put my thoughts into words after taking this in for the second time. That YT is breath taking as is every piece of your diorama.

I have officially given up scratch building anything.

This is amazing.  I realy love this dio.  It's very very well crafted, the scratchbuilt freighter is genious.

May I ask what scale these models are in?  is it 1/177?  Are there any actual model kits being used here and if so which ones?  or (and if so i'm even more flabergasted) are the standard ships (x-wing, y-wing, a-wing) all scratchbuilt as well?

are you casting/sculpting your own figures for this?  that rodian pilot is amazingly detailed for the scale!

does the dio come apart to allow you to photograph inside it?
were the background space shots added in digitally or are they removable backdrops for the dio?

I also realy love the addition of lighting in this.  I'd love to see your circuitry for the LED-system and ANY work in progress photos you may have.

I would LOVE to see more images of this and other projects you might have to offer....

LOL  ;D Yes the YT-2010 is bigger than the Otana and have more firepower with the gatlings. My mate Brett from the netherlands did the design and started this model but he had to quit his beloved hobby and i finished the model.

Mate firstly welcome to the shipyards and secondly what a diorama, this thing is without a doubt one the best 1/72 dios I've seen for a very very long time.

The details are fantastic and even look more amazing with the awesome paint apps, the thing I really like about this dio is that you have alot of activity going on without cluttering up the dio which is a very hard thing to pulll off. My hat comes off to you sir simply breathtaking and look forward to seeing more of your amazing work.

OK, I still can't put everything I am thinking into words. Please describe for us exactly what you have done here. No part of this is recognizable as a product you can buy. Did you scratch build everything? What is the deal with the tiny figures? Did you make them? I would love to hear some details about this amazing work of art.

The models are 1:72 scale and they are from Fine Molds. The best Kits available in this scale. The A-Wing is a resinkit from Fantastic Plastic and the E-Wing is scratchbuilt.

The figures are from different kits. The pilots came from the X-Wing´s. And the other guys came from 1:72 Figure-Sets like Hasegawa or Triliance.

I have officially given up scratch building anything.

This is amazing.  I realy love this dio.  It's very very well crafted, the scratchbuilt freighter is genious.

I...I...I...

WOW!!!

I am speechless.

ONE PERSON DID ALL THIS???  I would have thought a production team of over a dozen people did this.

This is movie scale production quality.

Unbelievable.

The words "Great Job", are not sufficient.

I have been staring at the YT-2010...

That ship is absolutely fantastic!!!

When I was scrolling down the pictures, when that one appeared,...it created such a feeling of wow...like when I saw the Milleinum Falcon for the first time.

Just absolutely amazing.

To quote the great Indiana Jones "... it belongs in a museum..."!

Awe-inspiring! You even have an E-Wing in there! I want one of these in 3-3/4" scale. It would have to be about 8' long but this gives me some inspiration. I always wanted to recreate the hanger from the Rogue Squadron game. I like the droid crane thing. Good job man. And the YT model is cool, and it actually makes more sense to have the cockpit in the middle of the craft instead of on the side like the Falcon's!

I've been out of the loop for a while, so a lot of stuff has slipped in under my radar and I've had to start playing catch-up.

WOW!!!

I'm a tramp-freighter fan, so that YT-2010 is ..... well, wow.  I love it.  Is it a total scratch-build or is there some kitbashing going on or just exactly what?

Just amazing.  Thanks for sharing.  My wife likes your approach to displaying by hanging them on the walls.  So you've given me an opening...  ;D

Thanks Doc! Yes the YT-2010 is total scratch-build and the "greeblies" are resin copies from some parts of the Fine Molds Millennium Falcon kit.
There are a lot of progress pics in my photobucket album if you would like to see some pics of the build: http://s474.photobucket.com/albums/rr104/HACKCORE-/YT-2010/

Title: Re: 1:72 Scale Rebel Hangar Diorama
Post by: Hackcore on May 04, 2011, 01:20:14 PM
Thanks everyone!  ;)

@commanderbly78: The rebel pilots came mostly from the Fine Molds 1:72 X-Wing Fighter Kit (i just replaced their heads) also the R2 Droids. That brown "Gonk" Droid came from the Triliance Hangar Set like some other stuff that can be seen in the hangar. And some figures came from figure sets like the Hasegawa 1:72 US Pilot/ Ground Crew Set.
