Not an action figure but a blast from the past none the less, for those that know me, you already know I love the non-figure related vintage items. Be it Sigma soap dishes to colored pencils and folders. I love the odd stuff that many folks seem to forget about. This one is one of those, a stick pin back pin,  Nice and resasonably priced items add just a little extra to a display cabinet.
Nothing great but a mostly forgotten part of the SW craze

Here's one to get the ole Tamer salavating. This is the Hoth Generator set I mentioned in an other thread. Contents are unused and there is only slight shelf wear on a corner that looks worse in the pic than in person, otherwise it's pretty nice.

I remember the line but don't remember this set. Interesting that the figures are die-cast metal.
  Nice find there,  Wayne!!

Man, wouldn't I love to get my hands on that!

So you think this was worth 35 smackers?

I couldn't believe it. Now this ain't AFA by any stretch, but the only flaws are a very small crease where it is punched and the price sticker. I have always wanted a carded vintage ATAT driver. My first preference is TESB card ofcourse, but that might be my AFA item someday.

Post by: Reconsgt on January 31, 2009, 07:49:46 PM
Yep, it's worth 35 bucks, Nice pick up. I know you have been after one for a while.  I have been seeing some nice ESB carded items but they were a little high so I didn't bother you.

I prefer offerless cards for the visual appeal so you have a clean card, doesn't matter if it's afa or not (they are over rated anyway) and it's yours.

Congrats

Sweet fig there, Tamer! I know that you had been wanting one of those. I guarantee that one is worth $35. I'll bet that you got a place all picked out to display him.

I had waiting for me today another Tie Interceptor and a mint blue saber for the Jedi Luke. The interceptor has perfect stickers but a broken wing mount but, it was intended to be used for parts so I am happy.

Post by: Tamer on February 20, 2009, 04:07:38 PM
Wayne you do find the vintage goodies. Congrats. Its hard to find a vintage ship with vintage stickers!
Title: Re: Vintage Finds
Post by: Reconsgt on February 21, 2009, 03:50:48 PM
I was able to fix the wing mount on the interceptor so I now will use it as a display next to my other one.

I do like to keep snooping for the oldies, with the rising prices of the new figures and ships, it isn't hard to pass on the new stuff and score some vintage for around the same money. You have a PM to some effect regarding that as well ;)

I've been trying to straighten up my hoard down in my basement for the last couple of days and came across a few vintage items that looked like they needed to be shown, here.

First is a good condition 1983 ROTJ Kenner toy catalog

then, we have a 1983 Rotj match block puzzle game of some kind. That ones still in the factory plastic.

and the last two are Star Wars 33 1/3  records with storybooks. "remember these?"
The Droid World adventure one is dated 83 and the Star Wars one has no date but must be late 70s?

If you guys are interested in these, LMK as I wouldn't mind letting them go.

Post by: James on April 17, 2009, 02:40:17 PM
I really enjoy looking at the old stuff. The 70's and 80's were the best for Star Wars.

Nice additions and I agree, the variety of the 70s and 80s line up of offerings are still a treat to hunt down.

Picked up this fig a week or so ago,   Card is not what I usually look for with the price sticker removal damage but the price was to good to pass up so I added it, plus I am a sucker for any ESB Revenge of the Jedi cards,

Title: Re: Vintage Finds
Post by: Tamer on April 25, 2009, 03:22:32 PM
nice pick up Sarge. The price sticker issue isn't too noticeable. I would have jumped too if the price was good.
Title: Re: Vintage Finds
Post by: Reconsgt on April 25, 2009, 04:27:47 PM
Thanks, the price was abot the same as picking up 3 new figures at retail  at Walmart ;)

I do like the fact that they released some of the Revenge logo'd items, I am always looking for more of those, be it hats, patches, ads.

Great find with that Bespin Security Guard! The bubble looks nice and clear too. The way Kenner designed those cards was so perfect.

I have to say that this is the very first Vintage post I've taken a peek at. It's funny how old some of this stuff makes me feel, and yet somehow it's very comforting.

Love seeing this old stuff... I'll keep an eye on this one from now on.

Post by: Reconsgt on June 29, 2009, 12:56:40 PM
MY latest score, a bunch of junk ;)  What caught my eye was the potential in this lot, I have been wanting to build a white witch for a while and this nabs me some of the needed vehicles, plus the 2 ATSTs that will be customized. Best thing is it was cheap from a fellow vintage collector

Latest score is an oddity again, A box of unopened vitamins, I like the wierd SW stuff and this one fits right in that catagory.

They expired 16 years ago so they are staying unopened ;)

Here is my latest vintage score
It is a 1983 Burger King ROTJ tray sheet advertising the Glass set,  I am excited abot this one as it is perfect, other than being folded, good color no stains or tears.  Now all I have to do is frame it and up it goes.

Scored another oddity today,

I found a sealed bottle of shampo from 1983, this one as you can see is Jabba the Hutt

I love the odd items that give any type of collection depth, I like things that will catch youir eye and say " O YHA  I remember those"  the things that spark the nostalgia are cool.

On that note a few more goodies arrived today

6 ESB Wilton Cake Candles,  these are not the best shapr but were only $1.00 each   and 3 1977 SW Coke Glasses

Title: Re: Vintage Finds

Another little package showed up today, nothing special but a few more items off my list,
2 more SW puzzles,  I like these,  I like puzzles in general and add Star Wars to it, then it's a no-brainer for me, especially since these were a mear $3.50 each.

Picked up a few goodies from an antique mall the other day

First is a minty sealed SW B-day SW table cloth from 1977, scored for $5.50 the next one is an ESB Burger King Glass with no color loss, that was $10 but it was neat to find some SW goodies amongst the other junk.

Thanks Shawn, I am actually huntig down all of teh displays that are associated with the Glass promo, you know how much I like the odd SW items, I have a pic of all of the associated displays, now the hunt begins, I have the tray slicks and so forth, I really want the hanging display.  The glass tray ad is in this thread, top of this page.

Cool, I have the displays from Taco Bell Episode 1 cups and toys. I have a ton of promo material from that film. I even have a Frito Lay cardboard potatoe chip display rack. I talked a stock guy into giving it to me as he had just crushed the rest in the dumpster. He said they had strict orders to crush them all from Frito Lay. I also have several of the huge KFC window stickers that are like 3' x 3'. Soryy none of this is vintage related but never known anyone who had glass/cup interest

I love that ESB BK glass.  I found one of those a couple years back myself.  Some may call me reckless; but I drink out of the thing.  It's too awesome not to get used.  I also use the ROTJ one with Luke and Vader dueling before the Emperor.

Well I can finally say that I have scored a Vintage find that everyone will be floored by.

While surfing Craig’s List I came across a deal that seemed too good to be true. An Imperial Shuttle and the seller only wanted $25.00 bucks for it. I emailed and asked if all the parts were present and in one piece. The reply was that he thought everything was there but wasn’t sure.

Well I figured that if it had parts missing in one piece I could get everything I needed off ebay and I would love to modify it in any case. Well when I met up with the seller he pulled out this beautiful Imperial Shuttle with all the parts present! I popped the battery cover and almost giggled when I saw the electronics were there… this was a near perfect VINTAGE shuttle. There and the only 2 things wrong was some scratches on the cargo door where it looked like it was put down next to a heater or something and the wings don’t come down automatically when the trigger is pulled on the handle but they can be lowered by hand.

Now I’m at a crossroads because it is in such great shape with no yellowing and all the original parts that I don’t want to do anything to it! Plus it looks so nice sitting on my shelf too.
