How did the dull coat work on Fox?
what type of paint do you use, if you dont mind me asking?
Nice job weathering Fox. Did you also dremel out the helmet to make it removable? I did one as well, fairly early in my custom thread with removable helmet. The hardest part was not busting through the cheek area of the helmet. I turned the dremel down really low so it was like sanding away the final part till it fit a clone head. Great work here and can't wait to see more.No I didn't deremel it. We have 5 dollar figs at TRU now so I bought a Cody and Rex and combined them to get my Fox. I am working on the other fig now and will have it up soon!

Very nice! Great use of the Joe and SW parts for a seamless custom. Good idea useing the shoulder protecters on his thighs. The lower legs are hard to see did you use Fett lower legs? Love the photos.

GREAT JOB CHAD!! Like the zombie kick you're on? Did u finish RED HARVEST?
A couple pointers, see if your camera has the macro feature which is the little flower, use a little extra light and a flat background, for some reason it takes away from the picture and i cant truly appreciate the craftsmanship, they look exciting and creepy.
Another pointer that i took to heart by SITH_FIRE CREATIONS A..K.A Dayton "SOMETIMES LESS IS MORE" I truly took that to heart with my customs, which is why i keep it basic and toned down for the most part, I like the gore and sense of creepy feeling which is what a zombie can be like, but if you see GEORGE ROMERO and his ZOMBIES he's the man!! They are more about the make up and detail than the gore itself, CATCH MY DRIFT? If you try to incorporate that into your customs, Bro you'll be on fire, i already see the awesome potential if you tone it down a notch.

Chad the Pteroptor Pod is really looking great! I am seriously excited about that one! I love the progress shots and would love to hear a bit about what pieces you have used. I bet you also have a great reference shot of the vehicle you could share with us...I will put a list of the parts together today and post it as I have lost track. The reference photos I am using are on the wookieepedia page:
I used the Laser Artilery Weapon for the body. This was a Joe playset/battlepack that came out in the ROC line. I used the skids from an extra Joe Rockslide vehicle. I do not know where the 2 miniguns pieces I used came from. they were spare parts from my son's collection and he has had so long that I don't know where they came from. The rollbar I am working on came from an old Joe sandstorm Jeep. The engines I made are from guns from the Joe Mobile Battle Bunker. The grill is from a Transfomer Ratchet figure. I also have re-watched wookiee hunt a couple of times to see the back of the thing as I have found nothing of the back of it online.It has been very challenging to make this thing. I am being very picky about parts because I want it to look as close the the one in the show as I can. It has been slow going and this is only the second vehicle i have made. The first one was my mini-rig walker for the mini-rig contest. I cannot wait to get to the painting part as I think this will be the most fun part of the whole process.
ok I have one more request: I need a rib cage for my wookiee zombie. Does anyone have the skeleton body from Amanaman. I will trade or do a custom for someone who does!ribcage parts found!

Alright guys I have been meaning to do this since the extended trailer for the Clone Wars season 4 came out. So today i finally sat down to figure out how to make a phase 2 (or 1.5 whatever) Rex. I think I pulled it off pretty well. I used a clone wars regular clone helmet and one of those old 501st clone helmet (when they were called tactical troopers). I cut off the bottom ridge carefully and with a little left over. The I measured and cut the bottom half of the 501st helmet all the way up to the teeth portion of the breathing mask. Then I glued them together. Then I cut off the fin and replaced it with the ridge on the phase 2 helmet. Then I gave it a Rex rangefinder. After that I painted it up. It was so long that I had to extend Rex's neck by a few millimeters.
That helmet looks like it was a challenge to make; a really nice job despite!You are corect in thinking it was a challenge. I tooke me about 2 hours to finish it. Cutting and assembling the pieces was hard enough and then I had to sand it all down so you couldn't see the lines before I painted it. I didn't think it was going to work. Yeah it look aliitle big but that cannot be helped. Oh and the pod is all hand painted no stickers.
The helmet looks to be a little too large for the CW Rex's body, but all-in-all, your work looks good thus far.
On a side note: love the Trandoshan pod! Great combination of available parts and the paint/sticker apps work extremely well! Swwweeeeet! ;D
Awesome! How did you extend his neck?I cut the ball joint off. Glued a piece of the post of another figures neck and then reglued on the ball joint. Pretty simple actually.
Now Wolffe! Not finished painting and he needs weathering too... tomorrow night!

You've been putting out so many stellar pieces this summer. I'm sad to see the summer come to a close because I know you'll be heading back to school and you won't have as much free time to make all these cool figs.Well i might slow up on production a bit but I will still be having plenty of ideas and will be trying to keep up with them all. It is true though that it was nice to have all that free time to work on this stuff. I have already started back (we are and early start county in Florida), this is my third week! I definitely will be looking forward to next year and having the summer to go custom crazy again. I hope to be sculpting by them too.

I love Papa Kal and wanted to see your RCs, so I went back in time(went through all 50+ pages of your customs, lol).. to see them.. it was cool looking through all your customs. Love the Zombie stuff you were working on, any group shots of the whole dio we saw sneak shots of? Were the Zombies for you or comissions for someone else, would love to see it all together. Also loved the Predator, nice use of Joe parts. Everything else was awesome, but of course, my favs were the RCs, loved the cut down helmets, I can't believe how well they look. I might have to try that. Also the extra shoulder pads make a difference. I wonder if there's some sort of easy way to add some chest armor to add that bulked up armor they have, might have to take a look at my fodder drawers, see what I have.Joe Rhyno thank you for this great compliment. awesome ARC's!, Chad one point to note my friend if you watch "Darkness on Umbara" you see the back of Fives's helmet and the blue doesnt tail into the fin it continues at the same width and slightly narrows and expands all the way down the back of his helmet ,but he still is awsome and so is hammer.I may have to take a closer look and edit him. Alright, Chad, that one is over the top. Let's have a recipe, buddy.Sure Clint! Its a EVO trooper body and pack except the forearms are from an RC. The head is a Saga phase 2 trooper. I sanded the t-slit off to a smooth surface then I painted the TOR style visor on. The Sunvisor is from CWs Cody cut off and glued on. The back of the helmet was also sanded away and I cut the the bottom of the EVO tooper helmet and modded that to fit the helmet. I added bits from the large cannon that came with the engineer clone( thanks to LE for that tip! ) to the guantlets and a knife to the right boot. There is also an added gun holster and some other add on in there too. Lots of work!

As soon as i can get another Barq helmet on my desk I will be sculpting up another version of this helmet. Its just too cool looking to not. I may have already worked something out with a caster. If you didn't cast that one Chad, I would make a new one and work out a deal with a caster here to make more. I can't imagine how long it must have taken to mod that one. I think it is among your best work.

And what head sculpt didja use for the Joker?Punisher is a wave 1 POC Snake eyes with a Law and Order (Renegades) head that i repainted. SE's body did not need any paint except for the skull. The Joker was a ROC Zartan that i resculpted. Pretty proud of it as it was my first ever face sculpt!

Very cool update Chad! Really love that Salko custom. If I may make one suggestion, you should dremel down the articulation on the shoulder and paint it with the skin tone. The brown joint really stands out as is. I also found one of those figures for $5, wish I could have found a couple more.here you go LE:

These are CRAZY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Is that blacksheep's just repainted?Yes Shawn asked my to give it a more ATAT driver look sort of like one of the gunners in the video IMPS. I also added some sculpt to the helmet and changed the head to a more post clone like head. The build that Blacksheep provided was just fantastic and my hat goes off to him. Fantastic use of parts by him.

Hey, I saw that you did some cutting for Sgt. Slaughter. What kind of glue do you use?Loctite. If my figs had blood that's what it would be. ;)
Which Loctite? Acrylic, Epoxy, Silicone...?the regular super glue. Sanding the surfaces encourages the bond.

Yep, apoc trooper is my fave as well. Where did that gun on the right come from? I have one of those but dont know its origin.clint that's originally from a range viper but they have replaced it with a few other characters. Cannot remember who all had it. Ugghhh! I hate your Oddities! They are really freaky! :oI do not mean them to be shocking but I guess if they are freaky, which is my intention, then they may shock some. It's difficult to gauge what shocks people these days or even at all IMO. I have studied art for so long now and I think my perspective on what is shocking is much different than people who only have a general knowledge about art. Most artists who consider themselves avant guard set out to create something "new" and "shocking" don't they?
BUT...that said.... I really admire the talent that went into making them and NOT liking them may be the result you were after, as they are obviously 'art' and possibly designed to shock, so if thats the case .....job done! LOL!

To get a dirty "worn the same clothes for weeks feel" do you use washes on the clothes or you just drybrush a lighter shade or over the paint?
