Hello there wraithnine here with another review...
This time round its the turn of Mon Calamari Jedi Knight Nahdar Vebb .
this was a mail-away exclusive in the U.S. (you had to send UPC's 5 or 6 + $6.99) and is exclusive to Argos in the U.K. for the princely sum of £7.99 (the same price as a std figure !) i picked up 2 of these this morning ,the suprising thing was that they came in the std white mail-away box imprinted with his name .

(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010155.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010158.jpg)

Nahdar Vebb appeared in the season 1 episode "The Lair of Grevious" ,along with his former master Kit Fisto(who i still need to get!)
well on to the figure ...
this has got to be one of my favorite jedi figures in the Clone Wars line ....dont know why but i just think he is great!
ARTICULATION:
Nahdar has some strange articulation but at the same time excellent
he has the now std ball jointed head ,he has a ball jointed shoulders that are a ball joint with a hinge arm on it thus giving the effect of not only having ball joint movement plus the ability to raise and lower his shoulders .
He also has ball jointed elbows and his wrist/forearms are ball jointed as well ,a swivel waist ,swivel hips and ball jointed knees but unfortunatley no ankle articulation.
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010174.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010175.jpg)
Paint Apps:
Now these i cannot fault ,they are clean ,precise and represent the character well .
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010159.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010160.jpg)
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010162.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010161.jpg)
he has a single piece lightsaber which has an excellent representation of Nahdars hilt
unfortunatley he does not come with a cape ,but it is only a minor let down.
He also has the 3-D fold out cardback that the mail-away Capt Rex had previously ,the diorama potrays a scene fron "the lair of grevious"and has a cardboard cut out of a MagnaGuard included .
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010167.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010171.jpg)
(http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010166.jpg) (http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn93/nosaj37/24012010170.jpg)
On the whole i'd give this figure and 8.5-9/10 its an excellent figure with only a couple of quibbles i.e. no cape or ball jointed ankles .
if you like the Clone Wars i would definately recommend this figure.

Nice review, Jay! Interesting that he came packed in the mailaway box. I like that cardboard backdrop, also.
Great job on beating the other sites to this figure's review! On the front page.
-
didnt realise i had lol ..score one for the yards!
-
man, they did an awesome job hiding his knee articulation in the sculpt, I had to re-read that part of your review to see if it was on the list. I can live without the ankle joints on this one because the figure is just fantastic looking otherwise.
its is funny they sold him at the store in the white mailer box. if it wasn't a crazy fast sell out that's probably why, it's almost like a myestery purchase. LOL

This figure is 10 times better than I expected. Looks to be a must get.
Congratulations W9. Beautiful pics and a great review.
Come on and release figs with the certificates already.
I have UPC's a-plenty all over the place and need to get rid of some before the wife throws them out again.
-
thanks ,still cant believe the U.K. got the drop on the U.S. that usually NEVER happens!
-
Great review and could you do a collection video or show us some pics?

I figured I was a little late as usual. LOL. Good one Clint. I will at least get it up on top of our review section.

hmmm that ball jointed shoulder deal is interesting. I take it then that it is similar to the way micromen are made, with an actual ball and socket joint in the chest cavity that conects to a swivel/peg like joint in the arm? it's nice to see that hasbro is experimenting with new articulation styles in the animated line... now if we could get them to do that in the legacy line...
AND wtf is up with adding that cool shoulder articulation feature if they are going to cut out the ankle articulation point? WHY hasbro? WHY even bother?
-
Thanks for the review. I've been saving my POPs for this figure. I'll probably get three. One to have loose. One to display the carded figure. And one to keep sealed in the box. Good job Hasbro.
-
I am after 2 at least as soon as see the promo.

The promo is on the next wave of CW figures from what I have seen. Those should hit my stores anytime now.

The promo is up on Hasbro's website. You can go on there and print off the order form. My two are ALREADY in the mail and on the way. Nice review also Jay thanks for the continued collecting FIX!
